Watching Phineas and Ferb lately and got to "Misperceived Monotreme" where Phineas and Ferb turn their house into a funhouse, and for some reason I can totally see an episode, if the show had chosen to be more like the pilot, where Charlie and Vaggie come back from an outing only to find that Alastor has turned the entire inside of the hotel into a massive funhouse just for entertainment's sake, singing "Livin' in a funhouse" and everything.

I would like to see a comic where Alastor and Charlie visit Rosie. While they’re there, Rosie “accidentally” plays “Hello Dolly,” fast-forwarding to the scene of “It Only Takes a Moment” as she leaves the two alone to grab snacks. As Alastor and Charlie watch, Alastor nervously glances at his hands, and one of them hesitantly reaches for Charlie’s. Just as he starts to pull away, Charlie surprises him by grabbing his hand before he can retreat.

Fusing & Merging Souls

Just a theory 🦌🌈✨️

Dark Romanticism often explores the intense, emotional and psychological contrasts of two characters, and the theme of two opposite souls coming together.

In my post here, I spoke about the themes of Charlie and Alastor suiting Vivzie's favourite musical, Phantom of the Opera. This is another classic dark romantic story.

The Phantom wants to fuse his soul with Christine's, which he sings about in "Past the Point of No Return".

Christine understands this, and that the two must become one.

Charlie and Alastor's Fusion

Before the release of the show, Vivzie would leave us crumbs of what was to come in the future. A few of her doodles during livestreams have already been fulfilled within season one, but there are still so many that leave us asking questions...

Of course, it could just be a fusion joke, but with everything else we've picked up on, there's always the possibility of it being something more. Watch this scene where Charlie gets stressed out and does a scary laugh. Her appearance changes slightly to resemble Alastor: pinhole pupils, sharp teeth, her eyelid looks like his monocle, her horns look like his ears. But most importantly, her creepy laugh had his radio filter over it.

It's almost like they fused together.

But what would be the point of a Charlastor fusion?

In literature, particularly within Dark Romanticism or Gothic contexts, the fusion of two characters (emotionally, spiritually, or psychologically) can serve as a metaphorical expression. So what if I suggested that fusion in Charlastor's context is a metaphor for marriage? Fusion implies a permanent, transformative union, just like traditional views of marriage: two become one flesh.

There's also a great deal of foreshadowing concerning these two when it comes to marriage...

Charlie owes Alastor a favour, as long as she hurts no one. Alastor wants power. Potentially, Alastor's ticket to power is to become King of Hell, which is vaguely told to us through his lament in episode eight.

I wrote about it in a previous post, but these lyrics are much more clear in the official Spanish version, which plainly have Alastor admitting he will soon be King. But King Alastor was already foreshadowed too, wasn't it?

"I dub thee King Roach!"

For Alastor to become King, there are three obstacles. Lucifer, Lilith, and Charlie. As of now, Lilith seems to be out of the picture, or maybe she's working with Alastor? Charlie, though? She's a Princess and next in line to the thrown. Marrying her would mean he and Charlie are both next to become the King and Queen.

I also feel this was foreshadowed in the pilot episode. Three Apples on the jackpot would symbolise the three Morningstars, but the third one is a deer skull, and Charlie falls right into it.

So that leaves Lucifer, the literal King of Hell. How can Alastor possibly usurp the King!?

I guess we'll see if something happens to Lucifer, or if he's faced to give up the throne. But I find it interesting that Lucifer is depicted as a Ring Leader as in a circus troupe. If Charlie became Queen, she would have to become the new Ring Leader, too. Is that why Vivzie drew her and Alastor as Ring Leaders together?

like yeah I know it's probably a stupid thing to complain about, I just think it would have been cool if instead of tentacles you have like, thorns or branches that resemble antlers that rise out of the ground instead. Keeping with the whole deer thing.

OK but seriously why on earth does Alastor have flipping tentacles, for goodness sake? He's supposed to be based off of a deer, not an octopus.

Completely stupid and unnecessary part of his design in my opinion.

Which hurts cause usually I'm a multishipper, but with how vile Radio*pple fans are, we gotta stand together.

Oh yes, i feel you. At the beginning i shipped all three, Lucilith, Charlastor and R@dioapple but now i can't even look at RA fan art without instantly clicking it away

The problem is not the ship itself but again the toxic shippers. I used to tell myself that it is just a small part of the fans who are that bad but now i am not even sure if there are more bad or good fans 😞

I can't even look at any ships that include either Lucifer or Alastor without them making it about RA. I remember seeing Staticradio art and people saying in the comments how Ra is better and that they can't ship Staticradio for whatever reason

Like under almost everywhere Charlastor post i see them saying how RA is better, that they just are going to imagine that Charlie is Lucifer or why Alastor would choose Lucifer over Charlie 🤮

The double morals are just so frustrating like i can't ship Charlastor because he's manipulating her and Alastor said he sees her as his daughter but shipping Lucifer with the guy who is manipulating his daughter and tried to get between them is somehow ok?

Or the misogyny, the way they write Lilith as an evil abuser who never loved Lucifer and Charlie and is power hungry while at the same time either ignore that Alastor is an abuser and terrible person,play it down or put the blame on Lilith because she owns him and forces him to do so

Charlie is not treated any better, she is infantilized and some make it seem like she can't do anything herself without her "dads" like you could replace her with a toddler and nothing would change in some fics or she is the one forcing them to get along so that they can have a forced moment

Then they have the nerve to give Lucifer attitudes and plot points of Charlie only to turn her into the blandest person possible. Like Lucifer suddenly cares about Alastor and is the only one Alastor opens up completely ignoring that Lucifer was upset that he survived and that Alastor opened up to Charlie

That's one of my biggest problems with how they write Alastor's and Charlie's relationship. Their relationship is so important in canon yet they reduce it to them having a simple father-daughter bond with Charlie calling him dad.

I wouldn't have such a big problem with the ship and shippers if they would just mind their own business and accept that people don't have to like the same ship as them. Like I love Charlastor but i won't go under R#dioapple or Chaggie posts to say how my ship is better because this is so disrespectful to the creator of the post

I didn't catch this the first time I watched the pilot. But it sounds like, originally, Lucifer was a way worse parent to Charlie. Instead of the canon patronizing but loving dad we got, we could've had a disapproving, perpetually disappointed asshole who's caused/contributed to the dent in Charlie's self efficacy.

This could have been a really cool avenue to explore. I mean, they gave Charlie "daddy issues" in the show anyway. They wouldn't have even had to change much about Lucifer (he could have still been a former dreamer who's been disillusioned over the centuries, they could have kept his depression, and they could have made it so that he still "loves" Charlie, he just doesn't know how to express it), it could have been some longer extended conflict that lasted more than one episode.

This could have also extended better to Charlie's goal. She'd want to believe that Sinners are worth the effort to prove to Lucifer that she's worth the effort. Could've even thrown in that Charlie was a worse person when she was a teenager/in her teenage stage which is where "Dad was right about me" comes from. We could've gotten rebellious teen princess Charlie!!
