Lee18 year-old trans guy A place to keep all my updates while I start medically transitioning Came out publically: April 28, 2019Started testosterone: June 26, 2019Psych Eval for surgeries: October 7th, 2019Top surgery:???Bottom surgery:???
It鈥檚 0.5 mL once a week at 1000mg per 10ml, so 50mg per shot
Highkey considering asking to up my dose of testosterone. After six months there鈥檚 been virtually no visual changes aside from a bit of facial hair growth. Is it just my baby face screwing me over, or can upping my dose actually help? Anyone been in a similar situation?
I don鈥檛 have an endo, just my family doctor :( I鈥檒l ask her at my appointment in two weeks. Also for changes, the biggest one is my voice. I speak in a total male range now, and have baritone to soprano range. I have sideburns and facial hair on my neck and chin. A bit more body hair, but nothing too noticeable. My sweat smells different, I have mayyyybe a centimetre more of bottom growth, if anything, and that鈥檚 me being optimistic. And I鈥檝e gotten a lot more acne. No fat distribution or muscle changes at all, which I think is what I need most to help me pass.

Lost and gained one note. Change seems to be slowing down a bit but that might be partially cause I haven鈥檛 been singing as much or actively trying to increase my range
Gained two notes but lost a bunch on top. My voice has also started to crack a lot as the break in between headvoice and chestvoice changes. It鈥檚 also become much easier to sing with chestvoice than it is with headvoice
Acne starting to creep up all over my face. Can鈥檛 tell for sure if it鈥檚 hormonal related to the testosterone but I鈥檓 just gonna go ahead and say it is cause it hasn鈥檛 been this thickly spread all over my face since first puberty
Did my shot by myself for the first time! My girlfriend was there for support and I did all the prep myself, but I let her press down the plunger cause she wanted to
I think I鈥檝e noticed my first change?? It might just be the placebo effect, but my urine smells different. Not stronger, exactly, but just unfamiliar. This is the least exciting change ever but I鈥檓 so happy that something鈥檚 happening lol
The nurse and my doctor were so nice and answered all my questions. I鈥檓 starting at a dose of 0.5ml per week, and I was given one inch needles. I had to do blood work to get my levels tested before my shot (don鈥檛 have the results yet) and I also did a practice shot of saline into my other thigh so I ended up looking like this:
The shot itself felt like nothing honestly, I felt the blood work way more. My doctor misgendered me a few times but ended up correcting herself. She wrote me a note for travel in case security stops me for the needles, and they gave me supplies for the next ten weeks. I鈥檓 so blessed by the Manitoba healthcare system, and by my doctor in particular. More updates to come as I start noticing changes!!
