I like to imagine that Luxu does feel guilty to an extent for tricking and lying to people over all those centuries. Xehanort and Eraqus included, but he’s just so far down this cycle of loss and guilt that he can’t stop what he’s doing. No matter what he might feel he has to keep going otherwise it’s all for nothing. Telling himself he doesn’t care about who he hurts, but he’s only lying to himself because how could he not get attached. These were people who treated him as a friend and they fought side by side together. But they’re only a handful of many that it probably just ends up as one large emotional ball of loss and guilt for everyone he lied to.
Lays awake in bed. Do you think Luxu ever actively missed the Dark Road crew. Like do you think he got even the slightest bit attached. Do you think he ever mourned their deaths, watched Xehanort and Eraqus from afar wanting to talk to them, but not being able to? Luxu seems like he'd pretend to be completely detached from emotional connections, like he couldn't care less about them, especially at the point of Dark Road where he'd presumably been at it for over a century or two at that point. But it does, even if it's just the smallest sting of guilt from time to time when he sees something that reminds him of them.

It’s so silly to me the people Luxu chose
Brain
Bragi
Braig
Luxu really likes B names apparently
#we should’ve known Bragi was Luxu#Bragi to Braig is just a letter swap#Maybe he did it to make it less of a jump switching names

"Says the person weeping loudly night after night, alone in his room."
I do not blame Eraqus tbh if that shit happened to me I would also be crying myself to sleep every night.

(Everyone is entitled to their own opinions about characters and I’m not mad at anyone specifically, if you don’t like a character you don’t like a character, these are just my opinions I don’t want to start a fight)
After making my friends get a minor Ansem TW rant I will know subject anyone who reads this to a longer Ansem TW rant
I’ve seen a lot of people who hate Ansem TW and I’ve found one of the most common reasons for hating him is of course his treatment of Xion and Roxas. Specifically the fact that he treats them less than human and sacrifices their well being for his plans.
Fair enough, except!!!!
XEMNAS DOES THE SAME THING
Xemnas treats Xion and Roxas less than human (so does Saïx “it”) and as tools for his plans. Sending them to kill thousands of Heartless resulting in Xion and Roxas both going into comas throughout 358/2.
“DiZ trapped Roxas in a fake Twilight Town so Naminè can take away his memories and give them back to Sora”
Xemnas made Xion and Roxas think each other was a Heartless to get them to kill the other.
If the reason you hate Ansem is because of how he treats Roxas and Xion but also like Xemnas make it make sense.

I like to think Ansem does recognize Lea in Axel, at least appearance wise. I think so much about how Ansem see’s the Nobodies. Essentially these empty husks of those closest to him. Of course Axel was once Lea but to DiZ, Axel’s simply a shadow of the boy who would sneak into his castle. Roxas is the key to returning Lea and Isa and everyone else.
So in hindsight this interaction is fascinating. Axel referred to the digital Twilight Town as ‘his’ creation and he recognized DIZ on sight. But did he just know DIZ from organization reports or did he know that DIZ was actually Ansem the Wise.
In the third game, Axel mentions he and Isa had gone to be Ansem’s apprentices to find their missing friend, but Ansem went missing right after that. Ansem was once Lea’s king, and he used to sneak into the castle all the time. Did DIZ recognize any of that in Axel?

Just found out the opposite atmosphere in Riku's interaction with Ansem the Wise in CoM and in DDD. Both of these interactions serve the same purpose: Riku needed to wake Sora up. Furthermore, both of them happened after Riku beat up the other Ansem.
In CoM, Riku was still unsure what to do with his darkness, while Ansem was following up the plan to use Riku as his pawn for his revenge. Both were trapped in guilt, darkness, and hatred toward themselves.
However, that negative pattern no longer appeared in their interaction in DDD. Notice their appearance in DDD. Riku met Ansem with the same appearance of himself at 15 year-old, this time with differenct clothes and shorter hair, showing that he has resolved his conflicts. Ansem's appearance was also cleaner with no coverage on his face, which means Riku's old friend has also overcome his darkness and the search for revenge. They were both at the end of their journey, which also showed by the backgound of the sunset, and were ready to face whatever darkness would bring them.
The way they talked to each other was so gently, especially when Ansem told Riku he can go home, because Sora has awaken.
While Riku's interaction in CoM served as his starting point to redeem his sins, the one in DDD marked the end of his journey as well as the beginning for a new one. Riku has atoned his sin, overcome his darkness, and brought Sora home.
