- pick a expert forum.  There is no point getting advice from non experts. Below I have listed some of the best forums.

-follow power members.  Take the opinions of power members with lots of posts or thanks ..they are usually identified with terms like VP or other designation

-watch out for SEO politics.  That probably sounds a bit weird but its very important.  There is a big divide between those interested in so called black hat techniques and those which stick to white hat only methods so make sure ask the right question in the right forum.
