genuinely starting to resent the popular tumblr userbase in the recent couple of months, just seeing what posts (and who) gets reblogs and what doesn't. everyone's blog could be a case study.

in this past day one of my joke posts from a year ago gained almost 2k notes. my posts about my friend Hazem's family (verified family #281 on evacuation spreadsheet) has gotten less than 100. they've only raised less than €500 in this entire day and there hasn't been a donation in 3 hours.

if everyone who reblogged the joke post in the past 24 hours donated just €10, Hazem's family would not only have the funds to not go hungry but also be evacuated. this is how dire it is.

the parents are facing a real, terrifying possibility of not being able to evacuate with their children. please help them get to their 50k goal.

I love how this scene implies that zoro is a self diagnosed luffy enabler. like zoro COULD have gone with him but he specifically chose to stay behind. he took himself out of the equation completely and sent nami n sanji in his place. babygirl knows his strengths and his weaknesses i'll give him that

i'm still not over how zoro first joins luffy. like…… he agrees to be pseudo-crucified and starved for a month for the sake of protecting a little girl and her mother. we’re like ok the guy is honorable and has a moral code. he eats the rice ball that the little girl made— when she’s not even around to fucking see it— and maybe it’s because he’s just so hungry but also we’re like ok the guy is kind and values the nice things other people do. he refuses to “stoop to the level of a criminal” and even though hes at odds wirh the marines he hasnt broken the law yet. okay he has integrity. he refuses to back out on his thirty-day thing until he knows helmeppo wont honor it first. okay he keeps his word. and all this on top of his demon pirate hunter rep.

luffy sees this and decides to blackmail the guy. and like, this is so easy to get around. zoro just has to pretend to accept the deal, get his swords back, and run. or like, kill luffy. probably any other person alive would do this.

not zoro though.

instead, hes like "oh well you caught me fair and square, you said my loyalty for my swords and you delivered even though i didn't really have a choice, guess im a criminal now."

the only thing that gives him even a moment's pause is when he makes very clear to luffy that his dream of becoming the world's greatest swordsman is more important to him than anything– even his honor, probably, although now that i'm thinking about it one is probably related to the other. so he gives luffy his one stipulation, not knowing that he's only endearing himself to luffy further. cause luffy's whole thing if following your dreams.

like how spectacular is this. clearly, this guy values honor above all else (besides his dream of being the worlds best swordsman) to the point where hes like…. theres literally nothing keeping me here except a promise i barely made when i was being crucified— but thats enough for me!! and then hes a pirate.

and luffy probably knew this!!!!!!! he saw these things about zoro and liked them so much, and then immediately began to take advantage of those honorable traits. like how devious. i love when luffy clearly lacks a moral code. i love that post that's like luffy is kind but only in a selfish way cause its so true. luffy is kind of... not honorable. he's an inherently kind person, and via the personal connections he makes with other people usually ends up working for the greater good– but he doesn't do things just because 'it's the right thing to do' or whatever.

and obviously it takes time and trials for zoro to completely and entirely decide to devote his life to luffy's dream, and he has to see that luffy's going to support his dream in return... but how it starts is just so crazy to me. the most spectacular beginning to a lifelong bond of loyalty and devotion that there ever was.

Izuna's poi is cutting smoothly through the water, almost upon his fleeing target, when there's a gasp beside him. A single glance at those tiny fingers, already reaching out and pointing, is enough, and he fights down the urger to swear.

"Izuna-sama!" Kagami's eyes are practically sparkling with excitement. "Look at the way its tail moves! Isn't it pretty?"

"It is," Izuna changes direction abruptly, heading for the new goal, only to be fended off by another poi.

"My fish, I believe." Tobirama's voice is amused as he scoops it up, the fish flopping about in his net before he deposits it gently in the bowl at Kagami's feet. "And that makes two from me."

Izuna makes a face at his rival but says nothing, not wanting to spoil the innocent joy of the little boy between them.

Spade Pirates’ First Mate Sabo AU

Except Sabo and Ace both don’t realize it’s each other because Sabo still has amnesia and Ace can’t recognize Sabo after 7 years because of the mask

This came from the writing prompt someone gave me of Sabo and Deuce interaction and once I got thinking about them I was like. There’s too many parallels. And couldn’t stop thinking about it

In this AU Sabo doesn’t get saved by Dragon, washes up onshore on Goa before he dies, and survives to set sail again a week or so later, but still has amnesia. Realizing that sailing alone as a ten year old is pretty unfeasible though, he stops sailing after the first few islands and lives as a feral forest child on his own for the next seven years until he feels ready and strong enough to try again.

He chooses his own name and Tage (pronounced taj) based on the assumption that Sabo is his last name and his belongings are too ruined to read his given name :) credit to whery for the name idea it’s absolutely genius

I might do some short comics for this if I ever get around to it but for now it’s just a loose collection of ideas!

me: despite my zoro n luffy brainrot I am able to maintain an objective pov and the misconception that luffy does not care about zoro as much as zoro cares for him genuinely has no other explanation than not paying attention because the manga the anime and the live action constantly reinforce zoro's importance to luffy from day one and the way he was recruited (luffy hearing his name and wanting him on the crew). every arc showcases not only luffy's inherent trust in zoro (with u here how could have this have happened?) but the way that zoro is almost always the face his eyes seek first. on alabasta he told zoro "long time no see!!!!!" despite it being three days, and him sleeping for most of it. in wano he blushed at the very sight of him. he offered to share his lunch with him, he doesn't want to adventure without him, he stands atop of water 7 and instantly spots zoro in the distance. la luffy merely says it outloud. 'you could never fail me' 'I need you' clutching zoro's hand to his heart. this IS how animanga feels. just because he doesn't say it doesn't mean he doesn't show it

I'm gonna say it.

It's unhinged to assume that someone's taste in fiction equates to what they believe is moral or good, or is something they want to see or experience in real life.

That is a bonkers assumption to make.

I'm tired of humoring people with long arguments about it when the simple fact is it is a totally fucking absurd reach to accuse someone who enjoys something in fiction of being in favor of it in real life.

I'm tired of pretending like this is a legitimate position to hold-- that they should be afraid of fiction's dire influence on a reader's moral decay or that it's a sign of what the author secretly wants for realsies in real life.
