Akiko Akiyama, my Silver Dragonborn Way of the Ascendant Dragon Monk.
(I chose to use Fizban’s rules for dragonborn, so more fun abilities!)
Age: 18 (In my DM’s setting, all races age at the same rate, so Akiko ages at the same rate as humans.)
1. What’s the lie your character says most often?
Akiko honestly doesn’t enjoy lying, but more often than not, she’s had to lie about the party's goal/the campaign’s main story, which is a world-changing level event. On the upside, though, the party got to see some cool things and meet some gods.
2. How loosely or strictly do they use the word ‘friend’?
It takes Akiko time to open up, and she tends to be shy, so she doesn’t immediately call people friends. But she won’t correct anyone when they call her their friend unless she wants nothing to do with that person.
3. How often do they show their genuine emotions to others versus just the audience knowing?
Among family, friends, and trusted people, Akiko isn’t always afraid to show her emotions on her face. The rest of the time, Akiko tries her best to hide her feelings and not be easily readable. This is mainly when showing emotions may lead to a negative outcome, but also from fey with possible malicious intent.
4. What’s a hobby they used to have that they miss?
Flying kites with her childhood friend Kasumi before she passed. As doing it without them or even her family made Akiko feel lonely and sad. So now, she rarely flies a kite alone or outside of festivals.
5. Can they cry on command? If so, what do they think about to make it happen?
Akiko finds it difficult to cry on command and often tries her best not to be easily readable in some social situations. Still, she’ll get misty-eyed if the emotions are overwhelming. When with family, friends, and trusted people, she’ll let her guard down and openly show her tears.
6. What’s their favorite [insert anything] that they’ve never recommended to anyone before?
Something Akiko hasn’t really recommended to people, mainly those not from her home country, is Daifuku, “a small round mochi stuffed with a sweet filling.”
(Daifuku is a Japanese confection. I haven’t tried it, though, so I don’t know how they taste.)
(Made using HeroForge, as I admit I'm not confident with drawing certain things & originally, I was playing around in there when I made the first draft of what would become Akiko's appearance. Also, the 3D print was done by my brother, and I now keep it at my desk)

For the character building questions! Idk how many you want to answer, but how about 3, 11, 14, 24, 30, aaaaand 54? Any and all characters you'd like! <3
That is a good question. I might do all of them and maybe more than one character if I have the mental energy for it, but it might also be a good, healthy distraction from negative thoughts besides playing video games. LOL
I should also give my characters some love anyway.
Wish me luck!

WEIRDLY SPECIFIC BUT HELPFUL CHARACTER BUILDING QUESTIONS
What’s the lie your character says most often?
How loosely or strictly do they use the word ‘friend’?

What fact do they excitedly tell everyone about at every opportunity?
If someone was impersonating them, what would friends / family ask or do to tell the difference?
What’s something that makes them laugh every single time? Be specific!
When do they fake a smile? How often?

What’s the most obvious difference between their behavior at home, at work, at school, with friends, and when they’re alone?
What kinds of people do they have arguments with in their head?
What do they notice first in the mirror versus what most people first notice looking at them?
Who do they love truly, 100% unconditionally (if anyone)?
What would they do if stuck in a room with the person they’ve been avoiding?
Who do they like as a person but hate their work? Vice versa, whose work do they like but don’t like the person?
What common etiquette do they disagree with? Do they still follow it?
What simple activity that most people do / can do scares your character?
What do they feel guilty for that the other person(s) doesn’t / don’t even remember?

What subject / topic do they know a lot about that’s completely useless to the direct plot?
How would they respond to being fired by a good boss?
What’s the worst gift they ever received? How did they respond?
What do they tell people they want? What do they actually want?
How do they respond when someone doesn’t believe them?
When they make a mistake and feel bad, does the guilt differ when it’s personal versus when it’s professional?
When do they feel the most guilt? How do they respond to it?
If they committed one petty crime / misdemeanor, what would it be? Why?
How do they greet someone they dislike / hate?
How do they greet someone they like / love?
What is the smallest, morally questionable choice they’ve made?
Who do they keep in their life for professional gain? Is it for malicious intent?
What’s a secret they haven’t told serious romantic partners and don’t plan to tell?
What hobby are they good at in private, but bad at in front of others? Why?
Would they rather be invited to an event to feel included or be excluded from an event if they were not genuinely wanted there?
How do they respond to a loose handshake? What goes through their head?
What phrases, pronunciations, or mannerisms did they pick up from someone / somewhere else?
If invited to a TED Talk, what topic would they present on? What would the title of their presentation be?
What do they commonly misinterpret because of their own upbringing / environment / biases? How do they respond when realizing the misunderstanding?
What language would be easiest for them to learn? Why?
What’s something unimportant / frivolous that they hate passionately?
Are they a listener or a talker? If they’re a listener, what makes them talk? If they’re a talker, what makes them listen?
Who have they forgotten about that remembers them very well?
Who would they say ‘yes’ to if invited to do something they abhorred / strongly didn’t want to do?
Would they eat something they find gross to be polite?
What belief / moral / personality trait do they stand by that you (mun) personally don’t agree with?
What’s a phrase they say a lot?
Do they act on their immediate emotions, or do they wait for the facts before acting?
Who would / do they believe without question?
What’s their instinct in a fight / flight / freeze / fawn situation?
What’s something they’re expected to enjoy based on their hobbies / profession that they actually dislike / hate?
If they’re scared, who do they want comfort from? Does this answer change depending on the type of fear?
What’s a simple daily activity / motion that they mess up often?
How many hobbies have they attempted to have over their lifetime? Is there a common theme?

Skip Google for Research
As Google has worked to overtake the internet, its search algorithm has not just gotten worse.  It has been designed to prioritize advertisers and popular pages often times excluding pages and content that better matches your search terms
As a writer in need of information for my stories, I find this unacceptable.  As a proponent of availability of information so the populace can actually educate itself, it is unforgivable.
Below is a concise list of useful research sites compiled by Edward Clark over on Facebook. I was familiar with some, but not all of these.
Google is so powerful that it “hides other search systems from us. We just don’t know the existence of most of them. Meanwhile, there are still a huge number of excellent searchers in the world who specialize in books, science, other smart information. Keep a list of sites you never heard of.
www.refseek.com - Academic Resource Search. More than a billion sources: encyclopedia, monographies, magazines.
www.worldcat.org - a search for the contents of 20 thousand worldwide libraries. Find out where lies the nearest rare book you need.
https://link.springer.com - access to more than 10 million scientific documents: books, articles, research protocols.
www.bioline.org.br is a library of scientific bioscience journals published in developing countries.
http://repec.org - volunteers from 102 countries have collected almost 4 million publications on economics and related science.
www.science.gov is an American state search engine on 2200+ scientific sites. More than 200 million articles are indexed.
www.pdfdrive.com is the largest website for free download of books in PDF format. Claiming over 225 million names.
www.base-search.net is one of the most powerful researches on academic studies texts. More than 100 million scientific documents, 70% of them are free

I LIVE!!!!
Here's some art I managed to finish that's one of my D&D characters.
This one is my Human, yes human, Collage of Sorrows (Homebrew) Bard named La’ruenäa or La’rue for short. After a time-skip/end of my group's first campaign.
I'm honestly hoping during our current game, we get to run into familiar NPCs and PCs since in-game it's been about 15 years, so this is them 15 years later.
And... no, I honestly rather be asked than ramble off about La'rue but there is a reason why they have wings

Update: I beat them! Heck yes! Even did a 2nd fight, so now down into the weird hole.
(I won't spoil it.)
But yes! Yes! Yes! Now goodnight
I'm stuck on a boss in Baldurs Gate 3, so I made a meme for myself. It's not the funniest, but it does make me chuckle a bit.
