Closing his eyes, Claw tilted his head up towards the ceiling, breathing deeply.

It was going to be okay.

Maybe even better than okay.

He could almost taste it as he stood silently, listening to nothing but the sound of his breathing.

His thumb runs along my jaw, presses under it, tilts me up to push his lips harder against me, his voice groaning into my mouth. The sound sets off warning bells in my brain; no matter how good this feels, I cannot let my voice escape. I feel the caution, but I cannot feel any fear. There is only the burning joy his touch sends racing through every pore, every nerve ending. I feel I might turn to dust.

He breaks away first, a human with a human’s need to breathe, yet he does not release me. His right hand still cradles my head, his left still traces lines into the skin at my waist. The gaze he sets upon me is fierce with desire.

If looks could kill, I’d be immortal in his presence.

“Don’t go,” he whispers, tucking his head into my neck to place an open-mouthed kiss under my ear. I shudder violently, nearly taken down by this small gesture. “Stay here a few more days. Don’t leave yet.”

And I find myself making more excuses, more justifications, coming up with a plan to keep the Ocean satisfied while I continue down this reckless path that can only end in disaster. Just a few more days, and then I’ll go.

He needed to get his shit together, but coming so close to losing the one thing that was tethering him and keeping him from the darkness was not leaving a lot of room for rational thought.

Claw pulled back, reaching up to slowly remove one earring from his ear, which caused his unified transformation to fall away.

Gently, he pressed it into her own ear, doing the same for its pair.

They stood there silently for a moment, Claw’s hand resting on her cheek.

She took a few slow steps before turning her head halfway. “Oh, and too bad you’ll never finish the last season of our show. I know you were dying to find out what happens.”

“Don’t need you for that, Sweetness. I’ll watch it on my own.”

“Uh huh.” Marinette strolled over to the fridge. “Better take my cookies with me then.”

She opened the door, but before she could grab the container of macarons, she saw Adrien stand and vault over the couch. He prowled over to her, shutting the door in front of her before twisting her around to face him. Her breath caught at his nearness, his mouth close to hers as he looked down at her, warmth in his eyes.

She couldn’t help a soft laugh from escaping. “The cookies did you in, then?”

"You do me in, Marinette.” He brought his mouth down to the hollow beneath her ear, pressing his lips against her skin there and causing her to fully lose her breath.

Her head lolled to the side at his ministrations. “Mmm. So I can stay?”

His teeth scraped against her skin, sending a spark of heat through her. “I’d rather you never left, actually.”
