animation being treated like a genre instead of a medium is something that actually makes me go insane. beauty and the beast is a romance. the emperor's new groove is a buddy comedy. big hero 6 is a superhero movie. moana is an adventure film. the lion king is a drama. treasure planet is sci-fi. if i was talking to someone who hadn't seen these movies before, and they weren't specifically interested in animation as a medium, then i wouldn't necessarily assume they'd enjoy all of these. and that's just disney movies! try telling an anime fan that fruits basket and fullmetal alchemist are the same genre and see how they react!

PLEASE for the love of the universe read anti-colonial science fiction and fantasy written from marginalized perspectives. Y’all (you know who you are) are killing me. To see people praise books about empire written exclusively by white women and then turn around and say you don’t know who Octavia Butler is or that you haven’t read any NK Jemisin or that Babel was too heavy-handed just kills me! I’m not saying you HAVE to enjoy specific books but there is such an obvious pattern here
Some of y’all love marginalized stories but you don’t give a fuck about marginalized creators and characters, and it shows. Like damn

[ID: A digitally illustrated 9 panel comic of Orym and Dorian Storm from Critical Role. In the first panel Oym is looking up at Dorian and saying "I'd like to figure out ...this". In the second panel he continues with "If you want". The third panel shows Dorian leaning forward and looking down in Orym's direction with a smile, saying "Oh, I want" with 'want' being underlined. The fourth panel shows Dorian pulling Orym towards him, and the fifth panel is a close up of their mouths as they kiss. The sixth panel also shows them kissing, Dorian's right hand holding Orym's neck. In the seventh panel they pull back slightly, and then come back together for another kiss in the eighth panel. In the ninth panel they break apart and rest their foreheads together, both smiling and a small "...ha" written above them. End description.]

Ok, I've seen this sentiment before, but the amount of Kindle Unlimited ads I've been seeing is forcing me to repeat it-
Kindle Unlimited is offering two free months of unlimited ebooks. As a trial. Which will then become a paid subscription.
Your local library is offering unlimited ebooks all the time. Forever. No contracts, no predatory practices, no tracking of how long you spend on each particular page in the hopes that information about your habits can be sold for a profit.
Use your library. They want so badly to give you all of the things for free.

Orym and Dorian are both so terrified to lose someone else they love that they are holding themselves back. They are already there, already in it, have already earned it. Any future they have will simply be the boundless time to explore.
But they can't let go because if they do and they lose each other, neither of them would ever recover. It's funny because neither of them should be here, with so many choices and crossroads along the way. The world and circumstances are against them, but they are choosing this.
And after? Endless possibilities.
