Try befriending your teachers then ask them for a hug. That's what I did. My business teacher looks exactly like Noire (but older) and all I have to do is compliment her fashion sense and we cool.

If not, you can always ask your mother. Not only is it a guaranteed hug but she could give advice on the side.

Ultimate Reverse 1999 Character & Relationships Playlist (Part 1)

I'm really excited to show you guys what I've been working on for the past hours. I thought that I would only make a short list of songs I think fits the character but my sudden burst of inspiration was so strong that I had to cut my posts into parts due to lagging.

It doesn't necessarily fit their time era or aesthetic or the common songs used in playlists but that's okay. I wanted to focus on their emotions and humanity.

J/Isolde or J & Isolde

"Uptown Girl" by Billy Joel - Classic, fitting, and straight to the point. It has a simple charm of a type of love that can blossom between two different worlds. A working-class J warms the heart of the lonely "uptown" Isolde. 

"Good Intentions" by RINI - This song is almost like an entire Isolde character study through the lens of J if he got to know her. It's giving slow burn, it's giving hurt and comfort. 

Apeiron characters (6, 37, Sophia, etc.)

Note: I highly recommend Bastille for any playlist regarding 6, 37, Sophia, or anyone that belongs to Apeiron. If you did a song roulette of any of their songs IT. WILL. FIT.

“Ancient Dreams in a Modern Land” - fits him and Apeiron in general, especially with his ability to look into the memories from the previous 6’s. 

“Reflection” from Mulan - He may not be a girl or feel the expectations to be a perfect bride, but the overall message of the song fits with his struggles of being 6. 

Sophia 

"Waiting in the Wings" from Tangled the Series - Think about how Sophia struggles fitting in Apeiron despite doing everything for it. The song is basically this. 

"Someday" from the Hunchback of Notre Dame - I like to imagine she’s having a duet or a silent wish with 6. It’s mostly her so it doesn’t count so much of a 6 & Sophia song.

“Before You Go” by Lewis Capaldi - 6’s POV. I like to think that these were his thoughts after the event of Vereinsamt and what he feels about 37’s departure. 

"Birds of a Feather" by Billie Elish - 37’s POV. Focuses on the emotional core of 6 & 37's relationship, especially post-Vereinsamt. Specific moments that remind me of this song was when she called Atticus' name on the beach, letters exchanged between them, and when 6 broke into a rare smile when reading 37's adventures from the newspaper.

"Atlantis" by Seafret - If the whole scene where 37 confronts Manus Vindictae!Sophia was a song, this would be it. 

"Ma Meilleure Enmemie"  by Stromae, Pomme - Fits their relationship post!Vereinsamt. Credits to mallowy from Tiktok.

The thing about making art is that I constantly struggle between wanting to create for myself and wanting to please others. Sure I may love Reverse 1999 and I do have a lot of ideas but it's not what I want to create all the time.

There's a deliberate, intentional thought behind each piece. It takes me hours to think about which color to use, how a certain pose is supposed to look like, the constant back and forth of using reference, and simply admiring what I created. It's easy for anyone to see pretty art and go 'It's pretty, heart!' and move on with their lives but to an artist it's hard. I'm constantly learning as I go.

And the worst of it is that when people around you know that you can draw, they have a silent expectation and demand for your skills. My parents and organizations often make me do graphic design for them even if it's something I've never done before. Maybe I could've liked it better if I have a clue what it is and maybe I should've stood my ground but eventually I ended up hating it. I don't know how I would feel towards commissions but time will tell.

So I made this piece. It gave me joy and even if no one sees it, that's okay.

So I was watching this video called "The Skill Issue , or: How I learned I Could Learn, and So Can You! (also capitalism is a disease)" in Youtube and the one thing that strikes me the most was when his mother asked his art-forbidding grandmother to draw a tree in her last days only to be surprised that she was hiding the talent for drawing.

It resonated with me because if the adults in my life were less supportive, I would've ended up like her. I'm grateful that even if I have less time to do art because I'm taking business, somehow I can still be consistent with drawing. I don't always draw Reverse 1999 art despite having a lot of ideas and I don't post everything I make.

Did you ever stop and think about how crazy is it that you can have a completely innocent child living in the same wilderness with a criminal, frakenstein's abomination, and a mental asylum patient and somehow live??? And if you wanted to, you can make them all team up to beat the Gorgon... and it just works.
