I believe you.

I've seen some memes to the effect of "being shot is a pre-existing condition" and while I always support making fun of insurance companies for that, part of me is like you do know it's been illegal for insurance companies to deny coverage based on a pre-existing condition since 2010, right? Since Democrats passed the Affordable Care Act, which the incoming president wants to repeal (and tried and failed to repeal the last time he was in office)?

Everyone thinks they can change reality with belief.
When movements accept violence as a form of organizing, they’re already dead.
It doesn’t matter what I think of the guy who was vigilante killed, the guy who killed him was richer and worse (his family owns a for profit nursing home company, for instance) and violence has bad outcomes for change.
That’s the real world.

The cool thing about tumblr is the fun memes, so much variety
The bad thing about tumblr is everyone here thinks they can read and we’re all wrong
I’m pretty sure I become automatically illiterate every time I open the app or type the URL and I just assume that going in
The more people here cannot read the more convinced they are they can—I have had to consult multiple people about the points and validity I thought the posts were attempting to convey
I will not repeat what the conclusions but trust it was very “oh… maybe they do piss on the poor” they have serious careers and degrees

Only 12% of pill respondents supporting the CEO killer has to be the funniest instance of internet =\= reality I’ve seen in awhile

And that was of "young americans" too, it looks.
Also, more women have a negative opinion than men, it seems.

imagine being a Korean person awake at like one in the morning trying to accept that the president of South Korea actually just tried to go full dictatorship by way of an emergency martial law because he was basically having a political temper tantrum and every agency and corporation in the country is all hands on deck, code red mode on everything and the military is being deployed and then the assembly revokes the martial law and then the president is like lol nevermind and now you have to get ready to work at your shitty job on a Wednesday

Remember kids, if you imply that capitalism is the same or worse than feudalism, no one is going to take your thoughts on economics seriously

Don’t base your politics on fictional books oh my god most writers will sacrifice the accuracy and potency of their message for the story arc (think: Zootopia) and entertainment value because if you don’t do that it’s actually a morality fable or allegory which Tumblr users famously don’t like (example: I don’t see people cite “It Can’t Happen Here” because, I’ve been told, it’s too exaggerated [turned out not to be])
If you are basing your understanding of politics on fiction your judgment is compromised like the books you cite

There are so many functionally right-wing people around these days it’s insane.
And they don’t realize or care that that’s what they are.

Turns out the polling numbers were wrong!
Include Latina women in the groups who voted overwhelmingly for Harris
And Latino men voted majority for Harris, no qualifiers
I’m not afraid to admit when I’m wrong, especially when the correction is this good!
My original thesis remains intact.
Focus on your racist white uncle. Leave the rest of us out of it. We tried.
Source: https://unidosus.org/press-releases/hispanic-voters-back-harris-over-trump-by-a-62-37-margin-cite-economic-concerns-as-top-priorities/
Voting blocs that voted overwhelmingly for Harris:
Black people
Jewish people
Queer people (and the percentage was high enough it definitely included white queer people as the majority)
Non-religious people
Voting blocs that voted majority for Harris:
Latinx people (barely)
Asian people (barely)
Non-Christian religious people (as a whole)
Voting blocs that voted for a third-party candidate (so secret Trump voters) (according to CAIR):
Muslim people
Voting blocs that voted overwhelmingly for Trump:
Non-college educated white women
White men
(The voting exit polls for Native people is unreliable and is therefore not included)
So white people need to become capable of looking inward because only queer people understood the stakes, all the white demographics (including white women) shifted right along with everyone else people love speculating about—every group you don’t belong to should be seen as an intracommunity issue and not your business
I am very, very tired of takes that reflect social media posts but not the concrete numbers. The actual issue is, once again, your racist white uncle. You are not immune to misinformation.

66k fake accounts & 10 million fake followers were removed. That's TikTok alone & just for Romania's election. Multiply that across all the countries & elections russia is actively trying to manipulate. That's the scale of what we're up against on these platforms.
