The area of the hole in Smitten's chest is wide and deep, but he stops you from poking that far into it.

"To My Dearest Heart,

I got your letter and your package. Now, I'm very aware that you requested I seek out the heart's owner, but I had a better idea.

I have passed it over to The Fight. You know him by varying names. The Brutish One, Violence, Voice of The Stubborn. I'm on my way to his cabin, and will be placing it under his floorboards for fun.

In my defence, it will be hilarious to see his reaction.

This was... not the intention. He meant well passing the heart off to Cold, but he likely should have expected this.

Why seeing a beating heart in a box would immediately rouse the thought of "I should put this under someone's floorboards" rather than the requested purpose is far past him: or maybe Cold just likes classic literature.

And admittedly, it is a little hilarious to imagine how Stubborn is going to handle the situation. Smitten's expecting an angry letter, whether to himself or Cold, over this.

It seems rushed, like there's somewhere it'd rather be. It curiously sniffs the heart-box, smelling the blood and hearing the gentle thumping as it beats. It considers it for a moment before making a decision. It sets a note down carefully next to the box.

(Note: Hi. I'm Jerry. Do you want me to find the owner of the heart to give back? I'm a good tracker.)

It's already been sent to someone else.

He appears to be writing something: the box the heart is contained in has been reclosed, and sealed with extra tape.

He's not going to let you eat it either.

Smitten could try to find whose heart this is.

It's not useful to him because it isn't his own. But it has to be someone's, right?

He can't exactly go out searching for them, so maybe he can give it to someone else who can find them...

(you receive an unmarked box. the inside is lined with sheets of plastic. nestled in the plastic is a faintly pulsating heart. it's still warm, as if freshly plucked from the body.)

He looks at it, clearly somewhat disturbed by the implications of this heart still beating in the box.

"I just what you're trying to do, but I can't use this. Also, I'm fairly sure this belongs to someone else, please return it to them."

if you're rotting, then...at some point, there'll be nothing left of you but bones...would you still be alive like that?

"It never gets to that point with me. I 'die' once my brain rots enough, and then everything else gets reset. It's a cycle."

"I don't think she wants to talk to me."

cold didn't have a heart before, but he was able to make a new one. could you do that, you think?

"I'm serious when I say it doesn't hurt. My nerves don't work properly on account of everything, so I don't feel myself rotting. But no, I couldn't make a new heart for myself. That's not in my power set."

He sits there, trying to think of the best way to explain it.

"Well, you see, I don't have a heart. I gave it away, and I won't be getting it back any time soon. Without it, my blood stops flowing. My body is dead, but I'm still inside it."

[After a short hiatus, I have opted to add a small list of things you can't do or ask.

Sexual jokes are fine, and I mean only jokes. Please don't ask about "the Smittitties," because as hilarious as that ask was out of context I will not be answering asks like that. Basically, if you make a dick pun or a "that's what she said" joke, you're in the clear, but actually asking about Smitten directly in a context such as that wouldn't be answered.

As of right now, that's all the specifics.]

You knock on the front door. It unlocks and opens, as if on its own, with a warmth left in the air. The room is large, with curtains covering what would be reasonably assumed to be windows. There must be renovations being done. The only sensible thing to do is continue to the next door.

Once that door is open, you see the stairs to the upper hall. A friendly voice calls down.

"Hello, visitor! Why don't you come up and introduce yourself?"
