Cheong-san then began to rock on his heels; he felt the moment his love died in his arms, soft skin frigid, chocolate eyes that were once filled with the warmth of the sun now void and dead. He screamed into Su-hyeok's matted locks at the unfairness of it all. "Wake up, Su-hyeok! You can't go like this, never like this!"
Lee Su-hyeok was gone, just like everyone else before him.
"Don't leave me, dammit! Don't you fucking dare!"
Lights out, Sunshine.
"Lee Su-hyeok, come back to me, please!"

______________________________________________________________________
Cheong-san stopped in his motions, breath caught in his chest. Did - did he just hear -
Snap
"No." Cheong-san whimpered, hands flittering around in terror when the body in his arms began to twitch. "Nonononono!"
Cheong-san couldn't do this again, he couldn't lose someone else to the zombies. Gyeong-su's - his brother's death - at the hands of a zombie disguised in a bloodied handkerchief had already been too much, please don't let me lose him too -
Cheong-san's inner pleas were ignored as Su-hyeok's head jerked to the side, blood renewing its flood out of the wound in his neck. His fingers began an eerie dance, playing a chord that Cheong-san tried to silence by wrapping them both up in his own hands. Su-hyeok's back arched and he slipped out of Cheong-san's hold, another loud crack ringing through the stairwell. His leg shot out and caught Cheong-san in the chest, sending the shorter teen across the floor.
Cheong-san coughed but pushed himself onto his hands and knees, crawling back to the writhing form of Su-hyeok. He winced when the other boy's shoulder moaned in its socket. So Cheong-san reached out, ready to hold Su-hyeok down when he suddenly went still.
A beat passed.
Cheong-san hand trembled when he grasped Su-hyeok's upper arm. Movement out of the corner of his eye had his hackles raise but he relaxed when it was just Nam-ra holding a knife coated in blood - wait, what the fuck? Where did she get a knife from? That couldn't be Gwi-nam's, could it? "Nam-ra, why did you follow me? What happened to everyone else - "
"Back away from Su-hyeok, Cheong-san." Nam-ra murmured, face paper white as she pointed her weapon at the unmoving form on the floor.
"Nam-ra, no." Cheong-san's browed furrowed in concern as he moved to guard the motionless Su-hyeok. "It's not what you think, I swear." A plead could be heard in the teen's voice. "He's not turning, he's not - "
"You know he is." Nam-ra took a step in Cheong-san's direction but stopped when Cheong-san got to his feet, hands curled into fists. He was now on the defensive. "Please, back away."
"He hasn't turned, Nam-ra! If he did I would be dead by now - "
Nam-ra flinched, eyes that were normally flat and cold growing wide as she reached for Cheong-san, looking past his shoulder. "Cheong-san, watch out!"
Cheong-san made to turn around but before he could he was on his back, breathe leaving his lungs in a rush. He choked, stomach dropping when he took in the growling face above him, kind eyes now dark with hunger.
A droplet of blood fell onto his cheekbone and slid down in a mockery of a tear, mimicking the misery growing inside. Cheong-san struggled, grabbing onto Su-hyeok's broad shoulders and instinctively tried to push him off, all an action in futility.
Slim fingers dug painfully into Cheong-san's side as Su-hyeok snarled and he gnashed his teeth, darting down into the juncture of Cheong-san's shoulder.
Cheong-san stiffened and ceased his struggling, feeling cold teeth graze his skin. He caught Nam-ra trembling, arm raised and knife pointed downward from over Su-hyeok's back. Cheong-san could just make out the hesitant and haunted look in Nam-ra's eyes as she prepared to attack her dearest friend, all to bring the shorter teen back to the group safely.
However, he didn't want Nam-ra to make that decision surely for her sake and not his own. So he made the decision for them.
Cheong-san relaxed and let his eyes flutter close, snaking an arm around Su-hyeok and softly carded his other hand through Su-hyeok's hair. He pulled the taller teen gently until they were chest to chest, voice shaking as he poured all the love he felt for the boy above him into his words. "It's okay, Sunshine. It's okay. You can bite me. I really don't mind as I'll still be with you, even if we're zombies." Cheong-san smiled. "As long as I'm with you, it's okay."
"Cheong-san -" Nam-ra sniffed, tightening her grip on the knife as her eyes shines brightly with unshed tears.
"It's okay, Nam-ra."
"I can't just - "
"It's fine. Just go - "
Su-hyeok shifted in Cheong-san's arms and the shorter teen squeezed Su-hyeok one last time, preparing for the pain that would surely come with having his throat torn out. However, Cheong-san's eyes popped open in shock when instead of feeling teeth tear into his skin, eyelashes gently brushed against him, followed closely by what Cheong-san could only assume were tears.
A weak breath then passed by Cheong-san's ear and he sobbed, joy exploding in his chest.
"S - Sannie?"
Cheong-san let out a wet laugh and released Su-hyeok, instead helping the taller boy to his knees. Something clattered against the ground and Cheong-san looked over to see Gwi-nam's knife on the floor, Nam-ra hunched over with her hand muffling her own cries of relief.
Cheong-san turned back towards Su-hyeok and cupped his face in his hands but deep down, Cheong-san was confused. He wouldn’t lie, he didn't know how Su-hyeok was able to speak with the severity of his wound, hell, he knew that no one but a zombie could survive a wound like that, but he didn't care. Instead the shorter boy focused on wiping Su-hyeok's tears away and clearing away the blood that smeared his face. He traced Su-hyeok's features with his eyes, holding back the urge to kiss his brow, his cheeks, his lips to confirm that Su-hyeok was really alive in front of him.
Multiple screams suddenly drew Cheong-san’s attention back to the situation they were in and he coughed awkwardly, grabbing Su-hyeok’s wrist gently and making to move back in the way of the rest of the group. “The zombies will be back soon so we have to go. Everyone will be glad to see you - “
“No.” Su-hyeok rasped. He stumbled to his feet and pulled his wrist out of Cheong-san’s grasp, wrapping an arm around himself. With trembling fingers, he reached to touch his neck, turning away from the other two teens when he processed the sensation of warm blood and jagged flesh. Su-hyeok drew in a sharp breath and bit his lip, drawing a droplet of blood. “I can’t go back, Sannie. Not - not like this - “
“You aren’t a zombie, Su-hyeok.” Nam-ra interjected, placing a hand on Su-hyeok’s drawn-in shoulders, red rimmed eyes filled with certainty. “You didn’t bite Cheong-san and you’re talking to us right now.” She glanced at Cheong-san. “From what we’ve seen, can a zombie do that?”
“No, they can’t - “
“But have you ever seen a human survive getting their throat ripped out?” Nam-ra and Cheong-san’s eyes darted unbiddenly to the mentioned mess of flesh and blood and Su-hyeok must have seen something in their faces as he just smiled and shuffled back a little towards the stairs to go back down. “You haven’t, have you?”
“You aren’t a zombie, Su-hyeok.” Cheong-san stood, repeating Nam-ra’s statement, ignoring Su-hyeok’s own. “Gwi-nam was bitten in the library but he must be immune or something and playing on everyone’s fear so he’s going around attacking people - “
“I’m hungry, Cheong-san.” Su-hyeok hissed, clenching his eyes tight. “When - when I was going to bite you, you just smelt so good and I’d never smelt something so amazing before - “
“But you didn’t.” Nam-ra strode forward with purpose and unwrapped Su-hyeok’s arm. “You didn’t bite him, you held yourself back from doing so.”
“Ya, Bare-su.” Cheong-san grabbed Su-hyeok’s blood stained hand and intertwined their fingers together, ignoring the way his heart pounded in his ribcage. “We’ll find some food for you in storage in the music room, okay? We can double back and make a quick detour.”
“Sannie - “
“Lee Su-hyeok, we aren’t leaving you behind.” Nam-ra nodded in agreement with Cheong-san. “Would you leave us behind? Would you?”
“No, but this is different.” Su-hyeok argued but Cheong-san could tell that his heart was no longer in it. “I don’t want to hurt you or anyone else.”
Cheong-san replied with a teasing smirk, “We’ll make that decision, yeah? Us and the rest of the group.” His smirk then thinned when loud screeches reverberated from the floors below. Cheong-san glanced at Nam-ra and she nodded at his unspoken request for privacy.
When her shoes had disappeared up the stairs Cheong-san reached to cradle Su-hyeok’s neck and pulled the taller boy closer until their foreheads touched and their breath mingled. Fear met hope, gazes conveying thoughts they could not say.

Hello again and thank you all for reading this newest chapter of my work! Hope you enjoyed it and are stoked for the finale of this "What if...?"! See ya next week my lovelies!
PS: I gotta say I did tweak the setting in which the characters head to the roof if anyone was confused. Remember that they were supposed to go pick Cheong-san up from the music room then go to the roof? Weeeeell... I made it so that they picked up Cheong-san and were going to the roof but Su-hyeok was missing, Cheong-san went after him, yada yada yada. Of course after that I made it so that the rest of the group had to double back to the music room and meet Cheong-san and Co. there.

All of Us Are Dead Fanfiction “Your Heart Got Teeth” Chapter 2: Lights Out, Sunshine Part I: Parallels
Hello everyone! I’m back with another update in my work Your Heart Got Teeth, an All of Us Are Dead fanfiction!

______________________________________________________________________
Sunshine, you are my sunshine
You make me happy, when skies are grey
I hope you know dear, how much I love you
Please don't take my sunshine away
______________________________________________________________________
For a long as Cheong-san could remember, Nam On-jo and Han Gyeong-su had been there.
From the rain puddles of primary school to the dirty lockers of middle, On-jo and Gyeong-su were there. To be honest, when Cheong-san took his first steps in Hyosan High, he believed that those two would be the only friends he had throughout his three years. He didn't really expect anyone else to want to be his friend.
But holy shit was he wrong.
First, came Dae-su. He was loud and boisterous and made the stupidest jokes and Cheong-san wanted to hate it all but he just couldn't. So one day, he gave Dae-su a chance and ate lunch with him. Next was Woo-jin. Then later, Joon-yeong. Soon, Cheong-san became overwhelmed and instead of receiving comfort from his oldest friends, On-jo laughed at his plight and Gyeong-su grinned, joining them at their table. Eventually, Cheong-san grew fond of his new friends and in the blink of an eye, a year passed.
Cheong-san was happy, but nothing could compare to the day he met Lee Su-hyeok.
Lee Su-hyeok was an enigma as Cheong-san could tell that the taller boy didn't enjoy all the bullying and fighting that went on around him. So, Cheong-san didn't understand why Su-hyeok continued to hang with the wrong crowd. At least not until that day, when he found Su-hyeok sulking in the back of the school's library. That day, Cheong-san decided to unravel the mystery that was Lee Su-hyeok and that day, as Cheong-san gave Su-hyeok the chance to turn over a new leaf, Su-hyeok gave the shorter boy a bright smile like sunshine, Cheong-san knew then that he had gained a new friend.
Of course, Cheong-san never planned on Su-hyeok being his first (and if he had a choice, only) boy crush. Soon enough, Cheong-san couldn't take the confusion and denial that his new feelings brought and he confessed his feeling to On-jo and Gyeong-su, throat tight and tears shining in his eyes.
Cheong-san lost two friends that day, but gained a brother and sister in return.
It was hard but eventually, Cheong-san accepted the butterflies in his stomach and the skipping of his heart when Lee Su-hyeok was near; Cheong-san accepted that he had grown to love Lee Su-hyeok, but he would never be loved back. He was okay with only being friends for the rest of their years at Hyosan High.
At least, that was before the chance of surviving high school dropped, hour by hour, minute by minute, grotesquely bloodied classmates nipping at the group's heels.
Ahead of him, Cheong-san could hear Hyo-Ryung whimpering in fear and stumble on a step as they ran, Dae-su grabbing the girl around the waist before she could fall behind. Cheong-san gasped and pushed Joon-yeong forward, the burning in his legs and the stitch in his side almost distracting him from the presence missing from behind him.
Almost.
As the group turned up the next set of stairs Cheong-san skid to a stop, taking deep breaths to calm his racing heart. Shortly after, Nam-ra noticed Cheong-san, stopping in her tracks as well.
She called out to him, grabbing the attention of everyone else. "Cheong-san, what are you doing?"
"Bare-su!" Cheong-san yelled back, already turning to run back down the stairwell. "He hasn't come back yet!"
On-jo made to follow him, hands tightening around the folded tripod she'd been using to clear the way of zombies. "Wait a minute, I'll come with you - "
"No! Keep going, Su-hyeok and I will catch up!"
On-jo glared, the anger in her expression betrayed by the miniscule wobble of her lip. "Fuck you, Lee Cheong-san!" She moved forward again, but Joon-yeong and Woo-jin grabbed her, dragging her back.
"Hurry back, Cheong-san!" Dae-su yelled, ushering the group up again.
"If you get bit, I'll kill you myself!" Ji-min's shriek of anger couldn't hide the fear she held for Cheong-san.
"Just go!" Cheong-san tore back down the stairs, forcibly blocking out On-jo's fading cries. Floor by floor Cheong-san went, heart in his throat, until he heard what seemed to be a faint scream. He slowed, creeping forward, the sounds of... chewing? sending a jolt of fear up his spine. Cheong-san peaked around the corner of the stairwell, eyes growing in horror as he took in the scene before him.
Gwi-nam (Gwi-nam? Wasn't he killed by the zombies?) was crouched over another body, face hidden in his victim's neck. The sound of chewing grew louder, causing bile to rise into the teen's throat. Cheong-san prepared himself to quietly slip by the cannibalistic teen when Gwi-nam jerked back, revealing his victim to Cheong-san. As quickly as he moved, Gwi-nam went in again for a second bite. However, Cheong-san had seen enough.
"Su-hyeok?"
Sunshine?
Gwi-nam froze before slowly moving upright, staying on his knees in an ever growing pool of blood. He turned towards Cheong-san, eyes wild and Cheshire grin painted scarlet. "Oh Cheong-san..." The bloodied teen crooned, "Here for your boyfriend? I'm sorry if you are. He's a little..."
Gwi-nam continued to speak but Cheong-san ignored him, ears muffled and head underwater. A heavy feeling grew in Cheong-san's chest as his muscled tensed, what he vaguely knew to be tears blurring the scene before him. Cheong-san's heart began to pound, filling his head with a sick mixture of terror and fury. He breath caught in his chest and -
A twitch in the corner of his eye. "Hey, fucker - "
Cheong-san moved.
For a second, just one second, his vision went dark. Cheong-san crashed into a solid mass, the air shattering around him almost like glass. He thinks he heard someone cry out in anger, but he wasn't sure as he couldn't tell what was happening, why couldn't he breathe, where was his light -
And then, it was gone.
Light burned his eyes, the sounds of zombies and dripping blood and heavy breathing his own it must be his own because he doesn't think he's breathing - rushing at him at once. Cheong-san wanted to crumble where he stood, but a whisper called to him, drawing him back to the boy who lay so, so still, on the cold linoleum floor.
"Su - Su-hyeok..." Cheong-san chokes on his words, stumbling and dropping to his knees near the dying yes yes he was dying boy, the blood soaking into his slacks ignored in favor of gathering Su-hyeok up in his arms, pressing his hands against the gaping hole in Su-hyeok's throat in a vain attempt to stop the bleeding. He took no notice to how the stream of blood had already slowed down to a gentle drip, drip, drip, veins almost run dry. He sniffed, forcing himself to avoid the lights going out in Su-hyeok's eyes. "It - it'll be alright, Bare-su. We'll get you stitched up a - and good as new in no time. I'm sure that... that..." He sobbed, tears running down his cheeks. "Please just hold on. You'll be fine, I promise..."

*French kiss*
I have this thought of your "don't follow me gyeong-su x reader" fic where while gyeong-su was feasting on the reader, they managed to tied both their hands together with gyeong-su's school tie. 2 endings (?ig)
Reader turned into a zombie so now reader and gyeong-su are just walking on the school field close to each other since their hands are tied.
Or
Reader fainted while gyeong-su was feasting on them and they woke up as a half-bie (and was probably dragged on the ground by gyeong-su while they were asleep and ended up somewhere else). Reader notices gyeong-su with them and just cried since he's gone while they're still there. So reader strolls around and in the school, dragging gyeong-su with them with a blank stare. Whenever gyeong-su tries to run towards somewhere else, (probs because of a loud noise or sumn) reader just pulls him back saying something like "no gyeong-su, stay, don't leave me, don't go :((" eventho he wouldn't understand or listen. Basically reader not being able to separate themselves from gyeong-su since they love him sm </3
Idk if this is considered a request or not. I only told you cuz I got the idea from ur fic wakajslshdgsvs so ykk
— keep following me
gyeong-su x gn!reader | 1.1k words — pt. 1
genre: established relationship, horror, angst
warnings: swearing, blood, suicidal ideation, death, gyeongsu is literally a zombie so… Yeah. aouad stuff basically… this isn’t rly well written sorry writer’s block is kinda hitting i think
synopsis: you wished you’d never survived it.
author’s note: when i saw this in my asks i squealed and almost teared up because the idea was so good. thank you for technically requesting and i hope you like it!!!
Sigh.
Maybe you should’ve started counting the days since you left the AV room with Gyeongsu. Maybe you should’ve done that, but by the time you’d come to after getting bitten, you were too confused by the entire situation you were in to really think about counting days.
So it had been days. You knew that, at least, from the setting and rising of the sun in the sky. You were walking slowly through the outside of the school, the zombies all around you ignoring your existence entirely. You wished the one trailing behind you had gotten the chance to survive like you did.
Strangely enough, Gyeongsu’s bite did not affect you the way it should’ve. You were still human, as far as you could tell. You’d checked Gyeongsu’s pulse and heartbeat, which were completely gone, while yours was still very much there. You were alive, you were a human, and yet a zombie had bitten your shoulder. You could see the mark. The blood. Yet you barely felt anything like the zombies seemed to.
There were a few times you felt like your vision was blurred and reddish, and you’d stop in your tracks with the deep desire to bite into someone’s flesh. That happened. But that was all there was. Sure, that was more than enough— And you shouldn’t be complaining about your situation. After all, you’d survived, and now zombies didn’t even pay attention to you. That was like a golden card of sorts in the world you lived in.
But still.
“Gyeongsu, stop it.” you mumbled tiredly, tugging your arm forward. He groaned incoherently and you sighed, only continuing to walk. During the commotion of him biting you, you’d wrapped your uniform’s tie around both your wrists. Before you’d fully turned, you had enough time and will to do that. You’d thought that at least, whatever happened after that, you two would still be together.
Now you were dragging him around campus, trying to keep him from attacking everything he heard that was a bit too loud. You were exhausted. You wanted to die. When you awoke in that random place in the school’s courtyard after being dragged away by Gyeongsu, you thought you were dead. But then you realized that wasn’t the case. But that it was for Gyeongsu. You couldn’t help the tears that flowed out at the realization, nor could you help the broken laugh that slipped past your lips at the irony of it all. You’d left thinking you would die together, and for some reason, you’d fucking survived. You were tired.
You didn’t even know what to do.
There was a loud, screaming noise in an upstairs corridor, and you heard it through the opened windows. It sounded too much like Cheongsan. Your eyes widened in fear of what situation he might be in but before you could even think about it, Gyeongsu started running towards the noise. You yelled.
“Gyeongsu, wait! No! Fuck, stop running you idiot!” you yelled, pulling him back with all of your strength. He finally stopped and for a moment, he looked at you. Not through you, not at something behind you, but at you. It was for a second, probably, but it looked just like the look he’d given you when you stood in front of that door when he wanted to leave. Your shoulders deflated and you sighed out what could’ve been a sob. “Gyeongsu.”
“Stop running around, you idiot!” you laughed. Gyeongsu stopped and looked at you with a grin.
“You should start running around. We’re playing laser-tag, come on!” he exclaimed, before running away again.
But it was just for a moment. He was still a zombie. You still didn’t have anything to do. You were still not human, and still not a zombie. You were stuck with Gyeongsu, and still had no intention to leave him. You could’ve, after all, could’ve went back to the group to at least tell them. But you didn’t wanna leave Gyeongsu at all.
But everything was too much. So you screamed. To the top of your lungs, you screamed like you needed to to live. Because you needed to to let out the overload of emotions you’d been feeling. “Fuck!” you finally cried out, “Fuck! Fuck off!”
“[name]!”
You looked up, squinting. Then your eyes widened. “Cheongsan?”
“Are you okay?!” he yelled, “I’m in the music room, can you come?” and then he seemed to take notice of your wrist, tied to Gyeongsu’s. “[name].”
“I can’t.”
“[name], listen. You’re not a zombie, look at yourself. Come with me, we’ll manage something.” he said, and in the way he spoke you could hear how upset he was at the idea of letting go of Gyeongsu. “Come on.”
You looked down and at the tie that kept yours and Gyeongsu’s wrists tied together. You exhaled. Your skin was starting to hurt from how many times the boy had tried to run, pulling you along by the arm. And without really thinking, you untied it in a swift motion, but not without grabbing Gyeongsu’s wrist before he could run off again.
“Please.” Cheongsan insisted.
You rubbed your thumb over his wrist and then sighed. You tugged on his arm. “Come on, Gyeongsu… Say goodbye to Cheongsan.”
…
“Say goodbye to me, at least.”
…
“Please.”
Of course he wouldn’t answer.
“Then.”
And then you chuckled, shaking your head. You took a deep breath and looked at him. “Goodbye, Gyeongsu. I’m sorry.”
You slowly let go.
“I love you.”
And somehow, you left. Maybe Cheongsan caught you at the right time. Maybe he found you right when you were thinking about what to do and extended a hand towards you, giving you an option to come back to your friends. Maybe if it had been any other day, you would’ve ignored Cheongsan and left with Gyeongsu. But he caught you at the right time.
When you arrived in the music room, Cheongsan closed the door shut and barricaded it, before engulfing you into one of the tightest hugs he’d ever given you. “Why did you leave, the other day? We were fucking terrified.”
“I’m sorry.”
He sniffled and pulled away, lightly slapping your arm. “I know your aren’t. Stop lying.” he scoffed, walking away. You laughed and headed to one of the opened window, sitting on its edge. Before Cheongsan could ask what you were doing, you explained everything that happened. Then he explained everything that happened on his end, and why he was alone, currently. You told him if you somehow turned at some point, he’d just have to push you off the edge. He agreed, albeit a bit reluctantly, and stayed close to you.
You didn’t know the whole time, the days and nights you spent there, that Gyeongsu was standing still in the courtyard, looking up at the room.
Keep following me, your words echoed. Gyeongsu knew they meant something, from how many times you’d said them. But they weren’t enough for him to somehow turn back into a human. They were just enough for him to wait for you down the window, until your group eventually left for another safer place to go to.

All of Us Are Dead Fanfiction “Your Heart Got Teeth” Chapter 1: Wrong Answer
Hello everyone! I love this K-drama so much and I just had to write a fic for it! So, here's my first work for the series!
Chapter 1/4 if you want to check it out on Ao3! I also have it on Wattpad here!
If not, then enjoy Chapter 1 right here!
1 ---> 2 ---> 3 ---> 4
______________________________________________________________________
So, I have a theory:
Gwi-nam, Eun-ji, and Nam-ra were bitten and changed into half zombies, or hambies, a name given to them by Dae-su. Of course, the show never says as to why those three change into hambies and nobody else does. (Unless it does and I somehow missed it. Hit me up if I did.) Now, as the fandom it's our sworn duty to come up with some bullshit reason as to why this happened.
This is where my theory comes into play:
When Gwi-nam, Eun-ji, and Nam-ra were bitten they were terrified, obviously. But I don't think they were terrified of the same thing as all the other regular zombies were afraid of: Death. Of course I do still believe in that moment a primal part of them is afraid of death. However, I believe these three were able to overcome that fear, as they feared something else more. Because of this they wouldn't succumb and accept death. For example:
Gwi-nam: The video of him killing the principal getting out. He would stop it (kill Cheong-san) instead of succumbing to death.
Eun-ji: The video of her stripping getting out. She would stop it (destroy the phones) instead of succumbing to death.
Nam-ra: Leaving the friends that she had just begun to make. She would rather hoard those friendships than succumb to death (making her different than Gyeong-su).
And if Cheong-san is still alive (which he totally is, change my mind): In the beginning he was accepting his death. But, the fear of Gwi-nam killing him (in his mind, making his sacrifice pointless) and escaping to kill his friends was greater than his primal fear of death, so Cheong-san fought Gwi-nam to the end.
To me, these motives seem pretty self-centered (not necessarily in a bad way for all of them).
While we don't necessarily know the feeling of most of the other zombies when they are turned, we do know some of them, and I don't believe they craved anything for themselves in their final moments. For example:
Mrs. Park: Feared Na-yeon wouldn't survive. So, she accepted her death to protect Na-yeon.
Gyeong-su: Feared he would hurt his friends. So, he accepted his death to protect them.
Nam So-ju: Feared On-jo and her friends wouldn't survive. So, he accepted his death to protect them.
Cheong-san's mom: Wanted to know if Cheong-san was alright. She fought in the beginning, but gave up in the end (the opposite of Cheong-san).
Oh Joon-yeong: Was bit and feared his friends wouldn't make it out of the gym, so he sacrificed himself, accepting his death until the end.
Jang Woo-jin: Feared his sister would die, so he sacrificed himself, accepting his death until the end.
I-sak: She was just afraid to die, period.
Kim Ji-min: She was afriad to die too, so she just gave up and succumbed to death quickly.
So the basis is this: Those three students (maybe four) became hambies as to become a hambie, one must want to stomp out a fear; a fear so prevalent that they won't let death stop them from destroying it. Their want to destroy their fear was not for the sake of others, but for the sake of themselves, and they wouldn't let death stop them.
Now, what does this have to do with the story, you may ask? Well my Lovelies, continue to find out!
______________________________________________________________________
When Su-hyeok had woken up that morning, surrounded by his family friends, he had a moment of peace. The morning sun was warm on his face, his body relaxed with the small snores of his friends, a light breeze brought fresh air not clogged with the stench of the zombified dead -
Oh right
Zombies.
Their school had been overrun by zombies. It was actually ground zero of the zombie apocalypse.
In that small moment in time Su-hyeok had let out a small hysterical laugh, but he soon swallowed it down when he noticed Cheong-san startle awake across from him. Soon enough, everyone else had followed them out of sweet oblivion.
Once again, after many an argument, the plan to go to the teacher's office came together and Cheong-san, in all his self - sacrificing glory, volunteered to go. Of course, Su-hyeok didn't believe Cheong-san should go alone. "Why are you following me?" "Who else do you have?" So naturally whether in a feat of bravery or foolishness or something more, he followed.
Su-hyeok, while glad that he followed the boy earlier, couldn't help but dig deep crescents into his palms now as he and the others made their way up stairwell after stairwell, choked apology locked behind his lips as he had't had the time to give it before they were off running again. The lightheartedness, the joking about feelings and girls and the tightening of his chest and what it all could mean -
None of it mattered, as he had almost lost Cheong-san.
Cheong-san, to the girl he had tried to protect just the day before. Cheong-san, to nameless classmates waiting to take a bite out of nearby flesh. Cheong-san, to the boy's own self - sacrificial tendencies.
Why was it always Cheong-san? Couldn't Su-hyeok ever catch a break when it came to the other boy?
Clearly, the universe hated Su-hyeok, as the sight of Gwi-nam swinging his bloodied knife wildly kicked the chance of a normal escape (or as normal as it could be with zombies at your every turn) out the window.
The two teens scuffled for a bit, a kick costing Gwi-nam his knife and a couple well aimed punches adding a few more bruises to Su-hyeok's collection. Suddenly, Gwi-nam seemed to get a second wind, grabbing Su-hyeok and bodily throwing him down a couple stairs. Su-hyeok hit the back wall, a solid groan being punched out of his lungs.
Gwi-nam grinned as Su-hyeok struggled to his feet, throwing out a kick that the taller boy barely dodged. Su-hyeok and Gwi-nam went at it again before Gwi-nam managed to knock Su-hyeok down, a kick to the back of Gwi-nam's knee sending both teens to the slippery floor.
Su-hyeok huffed as he finally managed to gain the upper hand, lunging to wrap Gwi-nam up in a chokehold. Clothes audibly straining, he tightened his grip until he heard a sharp crack. However, Gwi-nam seems unfazed as suddenly he threw himself forward, pulling Su-hyeok over his shoulder and hard to the floor. Before Su-hyeok could recover Gwi-nam sent one, two, three sharps kick into the taller teen's stomach, drawing out a painfully wet wheeze every time.
"You think you're so righteous, Su-hyeok? Bare-su ?" Gwi-nam drawled as he grabbed a fistful of dark hair, tightening his grip on the teen below him. He trailed his tongue along the shell of Su-hyeok's ear. Su-hyeok shivered in revulsion. "You used to be one of us. So, you think you can just turn your back on us, back on me ? We used to have so much fun - "
"I never wanted to be part of the sick shit you call fun ." The ever encroaching cries of zombies sent a spike of urgency through Su-hyeok's chest. He jerked beneath Gwi-nam's hands in an effort to escape. "Only freaks enjoy all the horrible things you've done, so I no longer wanted to associate with you. I have friends like Cheong-san who - "
Gwi-nam yanked at Su-hyeok's hair in retaliation before burying his nose into the taller boy's neck. He breathed in deeply before chuckling into dark locks. "You smell good, Bare-su. I can almost taste your... yes. Your fear." Gwi-nam then grinned in realization. "It's always been about Cheong-san, hasn't it? So you're scared, right? I know you're scared. Tell me your scared and I'll let you go. I'm only after your precious Cheong-san, after all."
"Shut up, asshole." Su-hyeok winced at the pain in his scalp, fear for Cheong-san sending a droplet of sweat down his neck. Gwi-nam licked it up without pause. "I could never fear a gopher like you."
Gwi-nam's nose flared as he hissed, "Wrong answer!" and dived, teeth bared, into Su-hyeok's neck.
---------------------------------------
When Su-hyeok was thirteen, he overextended his arm playing basketball.
Molten hot rods of something tore through his muscle, sending agony racing all along his arm. He remembered curling in on himself and collapsing to the ground, the forgotten basketball bouncing away in tandem with his hiccupping sobs. He thinks he also screamed himself hoarse that day as he wasn't able to utter a single word the next. For the five years following after, Su-hyeok would watch himself carefully so that had would never have to go through that type of mind-numbing, impossible pain ever again. And suffice to say, he never did.
Until now.
Su-hyeok had been bitten by a person before too; one of his cousins had had a bad habit of doing so as a greeting for the longest time. However, it was usually a quick pain that dulled just as fast as it came. It would never be as bad as his injury at thirteen. At least, he never thought it could. But this -
This -
Nothing could compare to this.
Damp air was Su-hyeok's only warning before blood stained teeth pierced his jugular, all of his senses seeming to zero in on the area and enhance tenfold. A bright flash burst into existence behind his eyelids as he snapped them closed, a scream tearing from his throat. With a morbid curiosity Su-hyeok compared the pain he felt at thirteen to now and quickly deduced that he'd take tearing his arm off over this. At least, he would know what would happen to his him. At least, blood loss would end him quickly. Now, all Su-hyeok could feel was the fire that coursed through his body, head to toe. He felt his joints grind against each other and melt in their sockets. His muscles shriveled up and his bones crumbled to ash. Still, he renewed his struggle against Gwi-nam, fought to leave his grip, to fight back, to stop the pain, to survive -
But all he could do was listen as Gwi-nam cackled from far away. The taller teen felt Gwi-nam draw back them dive in again with gusto, gulping down the life that seeped from Su-hyeok's body that failed to splatter against the linoleum tile.
Su-hyeok's vision began to blur, the cold from the floor below seeping into his deadening limbs. Tears of despair replaced those of pain as his hearing began to fade in and out. A faint grunt then shatter sounded in the distance and he was suddenly free of weight, but that passed his mind quickly when red began to blossom in his vision.
Fear hit Su-hyeok again when he realized that he had truly begun to die.
No! Su-hyeok howled as a cage locked him in his mind. I won't become a mindless zombie! I can't.
He swore.
Goddammit!
He pleaded.
Please!
He cried.
I can't! The others - Cheong-san - they don't know! They don't know that - that there's someone like Gwi-nam out here! If I don't tell them he'll find them and they don't know - !
Su-hyeok did all these things. All the others that came before him did these things. Su-hyeok didn't want to die like this. Neither did the ones before him.
But Su-hyeok was going to die, just like those before him. He wasn't special. He was just a boy, who would love and lose and sacrifice again and again and again -
"No..." Blood dribbled past Su-hyeok's lips and inside, he raged. Fuck this, he wasn't going to die here in a stairwell! He wasn't going to turn, he wasn't going to hurt anyone! He would survive to see his friends again, to feel the sun on his face and breathe in fresh air and tell him because if he didn't fear wouldn't stop Su-hyeok from telling him he wouldn't be able to protect him, touch him, feel him - !
Bare-su!
DIE, LEE SU-HYEOK

Rules for Fanfiction Requests!
Hello my Lovelies! The rules for requests are this:
1.) I have the right to deny any request.
2.) Anyone who badgers me for a request I have denied and won’t leave me alone about it will be blocked.
And that’s basically it! If I come up with others I’ll update this list but for now the rules’ll be pretty lax.
Miss you all and stay safe,
