Ema was amazed that he would have a title like that. If that was what the public called him, then it meant that she was in the presence of a legend. “That’s a really impressive title. How did you manage to earn that kind of nickname?” Ema asked. 

Yugi continued to lead the way while he explained. He showed no signs of being cocky of such a title or really caring these days. “There are these three cards known as Egyptian God cards and are considered quite unbeatable - hard to beat and I am the only one so far to find a tactic to beat them all at once with not so strong cards.” He explained.

Ema smiled once she found out that he was a duelist. She wondered if he was like the Charisma Duelists in LINK VRAINS or if he was a regular duelist just like everyone else. “So you’re a Duelist. Are you pretty famous?” Ema asked. 

The man thought for a moment or two in response to the other’s words. “They call me ‘The King of Games’, but I don’t think much of it.” Yugi answered the question.

“Well, it’s a pleasure to meet you, Yugi. So do you have a job of any kind? For my kind of work, I am a freelance worker and I get called when people want to hire me.” Ema stated. She couldn’t exactly tell him about her true profession because she knew that treasure hunters always carry a bad rep to their occupation. 

“Likewise, Ema. If getting payed while enjoying dueling counts, then yes I suppose I do. Well that sounds interesting.” Yugi simply stated towards the woman for the time being.

As she followed him to the cafe, she wanted to know his name so she could thank him later for helping her out. “I don’t mean to be intrusive, but may I ask who you are? If you want to know my name, you can call me Ema.” she said. 

The man continued to lead the way for the current time being, smiling when spoken to. “You can call me Yugi. It’s a pleasure.” He stated.

Yugi simply nodded in response to the other’s words. “Alright, happy to help!” He said, motioning her to follow him as he lead the way.

“…I’m a traveler,” not strictly a lie, “I need directions.”

“That I gathered.” Yugi stated rather simply towards the other. Something felt off. “Alright. To where?”

Ema had taken a trip to Domino City to meet up with a client so she could give them some data that they wanted. She couldn’t believe that they would live this far, but the person wanted the data and she wanted to get paid. The person wanted her to meet them at a cafe called Domino Coffee, but she couldn’t find it no matter how many times she looked up at the map. She was getting frustrated, but she became calm once a young man spoke to her. She was relieved to finally have someone help her. She had tried asking for directions from other citizens, but they always brushed her off. “Hello. I was wondering if you can help me look for Domino Coffee. I have been looking everywhere.” Ema explained. 

It was clear to Yugi that this person wasn’t from around here. He’d never seen her before, that made it clear. There were many that past him by he’s never spoked to. But he never forgot residences of Domino City that he saw. He guessed that the people not fond of strangers to the city weren’t pleasant towards her. However he felt he had a good vibe on people and for now - he didn’t have a reason to distrust her so he would help her. “Ah yes, I know where it is. Would you like directions or to be lead there, miss?” He asked.

“Yes! Winged Kuriboh is the best partner I could ask for !” As if on queue the spirit appeared on his shoulder, hovering up and down and looking just as happy to see the other man. “He’s saved me more times than I can count.”

“Uh no, unless I’m a figment of a dream that thinks they’re real. Otherwise this is not a dream, duelist.” He paused, his remaining slightly different version of the Winged Kuriboh appearing on his shoulder. “Good. I knew you two would work out together. It was in the cards. Things been going well otherwise?”
