how did you achieve the bright and colorful look in your art?

Like the super neon coloring

I want my art to look like that so much but it always ends up looking lifeless and desaturated as heck

The most important thing to allow colors to pop is to pair them with dimmer backgrounds and other contrasting colors. Also, using black correctly helps in color definition too. I’ll use a recent drawing to show you what I mean.

As you can see, the base for the above drawing consists of various dark blues and red. To make it more interesting, I usually select the lineart and add colors to it. Purple, blue and red are my favorites to use. The final result was made using shades of black, neon pink and light blue. Using white and soft brushes helps in making everything shine a bit better on the black bg.

If you’d like, search online for pairs of colors that work together well. Studying color theory may help too! I also use the tag “drawing tips” under most asks that inquire on how I usually draw, you can look that up too if you’d like.

I can’t really see your art to help you specifically with your issue, but this is the basics of how I do it.

Hi there! I love your art so much and it genuinely sucks that someone is stealing it to sell it on a t-shirt.

On that note, though I kinda think it looks cool as hell on a t-shirt, so I was wondering if you have any plans in the future to sell official merch such as prints or t-shirts? I would love to buy (legal) merch from you :)

I do want to sell my stuff, but as mentioned before, it’s difficult due to family reasons. As an alternative, I allow personal use, as in putting the drawing on a shirt yourself, printing to hang on the wall, etc. As long as there’s no financial benefit out if it, then it’s fine. Until then, will keep trying my best with the drawings and solving the current commission and merch problem.

Why the hell are people saying your drawings are ai? It's literally talent! Your art style is amazing!!! Also, I love the sir.lancelot drawing you did

Please don’t worry, it’s just a few people. I shared that speedpaint to stop that thought from spreading further.

As for why, I think the colors and some drawing errors I did in the past. It’s still a very superficial assumption, as if you look at my whole profile you could tell that I was human, but people can make mistakes from time to time.

Thank you for liking my Lancelot drawing too! This was one of the pieces I worked the most on so it’s nice seeing it get some love 💕
