@ anon, thanks for letting me know! my friend also lmk yesterday morning.

ill keep it vague because i dont think i should stay silent while this person is basically slandering me/my business but i also dont want it to escalate (so if anyone who knows or finds out what's happened even though its very vague, please dont flame anyone lol).

it certainly is a choice to not only take a pic of my stuff but also to go straight to slandering instead of trying to contact me and figure out what happened lmao

the funny part is... its not even inspired by her print LOL. i dont even remember seeing her or her art before this past weekend. extreme main protag syndrome of her to assume everyone remembers her... like. im really sorry.... i usually dissociate and dont even remember what friends ive seen at each con, much less even be able to perceive strangers (who may as well be visual noise)..........

and... even if it were inspired, you cant own an entire theme and general-composition-style combo and there are far more differences than similarities if you take more than a single glance 😭

i dont think what shes saying will go anywhere and the designs themselves are self evidently quite different for the same general theme+composition, so im not exactly worried on that front but still...!!! agh...

ive been trying to figure out the best way to say nothing mean about her art style or aesthetic sense, and i admit i dont think ive succeeded (though its not as mean as it could be) but in short: i would never willingly look at her art long enough to be "inspired", and id rather forget it immediately (which... may have happened????????). a little mad now that now shes forced me to perceive it and actually process it 🫠

and this is also besides the point* & just me expressing how i feel: im also a bit offended she'd flatter herself by comparing her print that is a literal collage with pokemon she drew in clashing styles pasted together to something i composed as a group shot, illustrated as a whole, and designed to specifically be on a colored t shirt 💀

* that is, i dont want to imply simply illustrating a collage's unique composition isnt a form of art theft, but i quite literally didnt have her print in mind, and our comps are so different for the same style of comp... 🫠

anyways... is she really just going to print her design on a shirt bc she thinks people are buying my shirt since its the same composition style and theme?? lol. lmao even

i wish i can say im entirely unaffected by this situation, but im not! so heres the next best thing: ill muster all my upset and channel it into spite 🤷‍♂️
