Artist Post- Bill Cunningham
William J Cunningham is an 86 year old fashion photographer for The New York Times, known for his candids and street photography.
Cunningham photographs people and the passing scene in the streets of Manhattan every day, focusing on their genuine usage of clothing to express personal style. He is known not to overly photograph celebrities (like paparazzi would) or people that use fame to showcase clothing they did not originally pick themselves (sponsored, free clothing).
He has made a career taking unexpected photographs of everyday people, socialites and fashion personalities, many of whom value his company.
He has his own documentary made in 2010 “Bill Cunningham New York”

In Los Angeles, Showcasing A City That Might Have Been
http://www.npr.org/2013/09/14/217281645/in-los-angeles-showcasing-a-city-that-might-have-been
The never built project showcasing what Los Angeles might have been like is I think a very interesting project to show. Not only that it’s interesting to see the forgotten ideas of the architect, but seeing of how elaborate and very unique and over the top the majority of the idea was, is very fascinating to be able to see. It makes you wonder how your own hometown might have looked like as well and also how difficult and very important it would be to decide what should be made into the city, imagine if the city messed it up in the beginning, it would be very bad for the people. Just like my home town country for example, because the place is still a developing country, we island and cities are still having problems in having either enough streets for cars and/or not being able to provide public transport and other big facilities.
From the choice of eight never before built structures I chose the Los Angeles International Airport original plan made by Pereira and Luckman in 1952. I think this original design visual looks phenomenal, and would be amazing to see it come to life. It has a beautiful large glass dome, with green plants around it and an interesting main center point. Even though the airport is visual appealing, the plan wouldn’t be very efficient to be made into real life. Because it was planned to be a single, centralized terminal on one roof, the airlines and the city engineers canceled the plan. The elaborate plan was put off because the city’s building department found that the place was too fundamental, in that the cost of having to have air-conditioning for the large place would have been unreasonable and to have all the terminal in one roof would be chaotic and is not wanted by the airlines, as they would want individual terminals. Not only that building this airport at that time would not have been economically good for the city, as it would have cost them a lot of money and time to built it. In my opinion I think the city could have made this design not for one large airport, but maybe having it a smaller size for one terminal, as it is a pity to put off such an amazing idea, especially since now a days, airports around the world are known to have one of the best architectures.

Elective - Letter Press Printing
Mid terms type specimen project, with two colors in set of 20.
For this project I had to make a type specimen for Copperplate Gothic with the letter press machine. It was a tedious work as the metal letters was quite tiny and there wash that many metal parts left to make the gaps that was needed to lock up the frame. The printing process it self was quite easy, just had to make sure it was on the right place. The final prints however tends to be a bit messy since i was working very quickly and didn't notice hands had many ink.
It was such a experience working using the machine and all the metal types, with the frames and all the other equipments to make the print. Very different to when just making these typeface digitally, where its very easy to erase a mistake by just clicking a button and not as much printing issue as using the letter press printing.
