Stepping onto the concrete floor, piles of broken glasses scattered everywhere, dirt and broken furniture. You wondered again to what posessed you to walk into an abandoned mansion.
Ah, you lost a bet
A large chandelier which reflects the illumination of the moon from the partially broken glass window, as you walk up the stairs, you catch a glimpse of your friends through the shattered window from the outside doing god knows what while they waited for you to finish your dare.
Eerie but harmless sounds continues to fill your ears, the walls were pretty much ruined, statues within the second floor hallway was broken into pieces. Old folktale stated that the mansion belong to a princess way centuries ago. Now abandoned and neglected, everything was unrecognizeable.
But it felt familiar to you.
Though never stepping a foot into the mansion, somehow, something lures you in, was it the unrecognizeable designs? Statues? It remains unknown. That was when you reached the main room, which was the largest one. Dark surrounded the space but you felt something reeling you in, it felt familiar once again.
Step by step you walk in, footsteps echoing as you reach the door. You push the balcony's rusty wooden door and let the moonlight illuminate the room. Your eyes roam around the room until your eyes falls interest.
You spot a large canvas which was hidden under a seemingly wide cloth. Curiousity got the best of you, you were already doomed at the moment you stepped in so whats the point of being scared now? Approaching it ever so slowly and made your way to the mysterious canvas. You wondered what the painting would be behind the cloth. As you took at the end the cloth and started pulling it, a gust of dust follows which revealed, and that was when everything went silent.
It was a portrait of you.
