I am.... Emotional lol. Chan's mom posted a video of her going to buy Chan a birthday cake, and then she cooked all of Chan's favorite dishes and set up the table. She said that it has been 10 years since she last cooked for Chan for his bday, and every year since then she cooks his favorite dishes for him and eats it with the family. She said even though he's not with his family, she's very grateful that he's getting so much love so he doesn't feel alone on his birthday. She ended it by saying that she's proud to be his mom and that she loves him. The whole time she was holding back tears and I know it must hurt so much to not have your son there for so long, the whole family is very strong for letting him go off and pursue his dreams. It's not easy from either side, having your family that you're so close with suddenly so far, but I'm grateful that they're all supportive and loving even with the distance. Thank you to Chan's family for letting us enjoy his company even though you can't physically, it does not go to waste.
