Welcome to my blog. I post a lot of different stuff ranging from environmentalism and art to literature and paganism, with a decent amount of musical passion and distasteful opinions thrown into the mix. Enjoy.

I'd like to introduce my new Etsy store! This my first time selling stuff, but I'm trying to gain more traction. I thrift, reconstruct, and upcycle authentic punk rock jewelry and clothing. Everything I present in my shop is sustainably and ethically sourced. I can also do custom pieces!

Just a Note to Self
That moment when you realise you've been listening to bona fide sasscore way too much for way too long (over 10 years now, Jesus fuck). Thanks, Refused and Fugazi, now I can't stop listening to The Blood Brothers, Trophy Scars, and JR Ewing. I should've never started, honestly. Seriously, though. When I heard 'New Noise' via Tony Hawk's Underground at like 11 or 12, I never looked back. Reading the lyrics, it really felt like anything was possible in terms of music. It was a new level of thinking, perhaps the earliest inkling of hardcore (yes, aside from AFI on THPS3 on N64) in my life. And then you have shit like At the Drive-In -- which just came on as I was typing. That band is just on their own level, poetically. I love flowery and dramatic lines lol. All this to say I need more albums and mp3's in this particular genre. Just a note to self.

Found a New CopyPasta, Y'all
"Real Emoviolence" only consists of the RWP German screamo scene and the late 90's Florida screamo scene. What is commonly known as "emoviolence" is nothing but screamo with questionable real powerviolence influence. When people try to argue that bands like Old Gray (Slow Burn era) are not emoviolence, while saying that Lord Snow is, I can't help not to cringe becase they are just as fake emoviolence as Old Gray (Slow Burn era) (plus the pretentiousness). Real emoviolence sounds ENERGETIC, POWERFUL and somewhat HATEFUL. Fake emoviolence is weak, self pity and a failed attempt to direct energy and emotion into music. Some examples of REAL EMOVIOLENCE are Jeromes Dream, Louise Cyphre, Gas Up Yr Hearse (the only real emoviolence band from the sasscore revival scene) and Reversal of Man. Some examples of FAKE EMOVIOLENCE are La Quiete, Portayal of Guilt and Orchid EMOVIOLENCE BELONGS TO HARDCORE NOT SKRAMZ, SCREAMO OR SKRAM OR ANY OTHER MAINSTREAM GENRE

Tbh, I was ahead of the fucking curve. I knew an outright emo/goth clone was on its way, but with an edgy/punk aesthetic that some wasn't deathrock. I knew because I dressed it. I was that alternative loser no one really wanted to be friends with, and spent a lot of her time online or alone in video games or skating. I was that nerd who still somehow thought VampireFreaks was a better alternative to Facebook because I was unhappy that Myspace was seemingly ignored. Eboys/egirls is all that same alternative shit I was on about for the new era. I was on the cusp of this trend before it ever began, though. What all these 'egirls' and whoever are wearing now, I was wearing when I was in high school. Sure, I wasn't allowed to have my ears pierced, wear makeup, or paint my nails all until I graduated high school, but regardless. I developed my my aesthetic and the way I dressed from high school all the way through my college years before all this new wave of Internet cringe. At any rate, it's cool to see how I dress is actually popular, and my aesthetic is weirdly 'out there' beyond my control (to which people have cultivated and crafted and capitalised upon). And it just kinda goes to show you're never really an individual. Even what I did was done before. I'm no the first to embrace nostalgia, even for aesthetic -- and I won't be the last. Suffice it to say, you're not special if you listen to punk or industrial and wear combat boots. I mean, I thought I was special lol. But nah. I'm pretty lame and normal. I embrace it all the same. I still write dope poetry, even if no one reads it lmao.

Lol so what if emoviolence is just the sound of powerviolence with the vocal styles of grindcore and hella hardcore/emocore influences?

I've thought of something. Apparently the Met Gala went on recently. And lemme just tell you, that when it comes to LGBTQ+ representation, those celebs that do represent, all got to be there. Lil Nas X and Elliot Page are at the very least two high-profile individuals right now, and their inclusion at an event as seemingly huge as the Met Gala can't be overstated. And at this point, I think Megan Fox's appearance is a given. When it comes to acceptance, we've come a very long way. This is certainly something to celebrate, in spite of what backlash may still be garnered! It's just the mere fact that we're included and we can feel like we're part of everyone else -- isn't that what we've always wanted? At any rate, I'm happy for it.
