                   the initial GUTPUNCH of catching sight of the photo on her communicator passes, after a tense moment or two and a thick, difficult swallow. his fingers grip the device, knuckles turning white with the pressure. what is he supposed to say about this, exactly? play dumb and pretend not to recognize his own, practically unchanged features? how about ‘nice to see you didn’t put me out of your mind the moment you left the ground’? 

                                          what is the correct protocol here? 

                  a stiff, broken laugh breaks the silence—too quiet and breathy to be completely sincere. his chest aches with it; the faint smile tugging the edge of his lips is AMBIVALENT and PAINED.

                  ❝…he never got any better at taking pictures, you know. Besides a couple of school pictures, all the shots of me that exist look like cryptid photos.❞

     Krolia does not laugh, they can see the hurt behind his eyes. It’s clear that this might have been the wrong choice to have made when it came to trying to heal some of their relationship but as it was in this moment, as it was in almost all of the time they have spent together, completely fucking apparent that they know absolutely nothing about him or what he needs now that he’s a teenager.

         They remembered bigfoot well. They had seen an episode of that show the Texan had really liked. The one with the two pale people ho solve weird wildly inaccurate missions about outer space.

I also accidentally befriended a pro Widowmaker by the name of Belpheagor. She kept landing headshots on me and after like the 6th time I wrote in the chat, “Widow plz” because I know from prior experience that it tends to work. 

She wrote back, “Mercy I’m sorry, but I have to.” After that she only landed body shots on me, but she was definitely more hesitant to land any shots on me. 

Later, I was going around the back of the point to try and get to someone and I ran point blank into her. She stared at me through her scope for a few seconds; I “Hello!���ed to try and pull on her heartstrings. She shot the Pharah coming up behind me, gave me a look, and then grappled away. 

She wrote in the chat, “Did you see how I didn’t shoot you” and next thing I know I had a friend request from her.

         Krolia observes their own handy work. It’s mostly sentries that litter the ground, their electric bodies crackling and fizzling where Krolia’s blade has sliced them into pieces. However there are not just robots that are covering the ship’s floor, the bodies of their fellow Galra are in pieces on the floor. 

           They had not intend to split their fellows open to the degree that they had. Honestly a couple of well placed slashes would have done the trick, but there is pure and unbridled spiteful fucking rage powering Krolia and that’s all really keeping them going at this point.
