I love Sundays. This one is @joyce-grad’s birthday so this morning our whole flat sat in her bed for opening presents and then we made pancakes for breakfast. She has to be in the bookshop where she works for some of the day but we are meeting more friends at the pub later. I went for a walk around the neighbourhood –– I like to daydream about living in the houses near the park and the observatory (the ones in some of my favourite books, like Ali Smith’s There but for the and Graham Swift’s Waterland). I walked back past The Creaky Shed and bought the most beautiful purple sprouting broccoli (and spinach, and tomatoes). At the moment Sundays really do seem to be about small things, like walking and soft brown paper and fresh salad. 😌
