I made this random little prologue to a story I'm writing. It'll be about the movie SAW, but it's totally different. John Kramer will order Detective Hoffman to capture two people, a father and son, for their next game. That's all there is to the prologue, and then it will turn over to chapter one, where Cecil and Gideon (the father and son) are in a trap.
The story is called 'Second Chance', btw!

"Life... What does it mean to you? Are you grateful for the life you live or do you wish to disappear completely...? I can show you how extraordinarily powerful the will to live is, but you must do something for me. Take this... and you'll know what to do with it."
John hands his apprentice a dirty yellow envelope, black ink soaked into the paper with a number written on it. As he opens it, he pulls out three black and white photographs of a man, along with two of a young boy.
"Cecil and Gideon Bateman. Find them for me within three days. Fail to succeed in such, and you'll be taken away from the thing you love most. I imagine you know what I'm referring to, Detective Hoffman."
The younger man nodded and flicked the hood of his black and red cloak over his head. Out he went through the big metal doors of the warehouse, chills running up and down his spine from the slight breeze that rolled past him. The detective slid into his car and placed his scabbed hands over the steering wheel.
Of course, he was absolutely terrified about what John would do, what he would take away from him if he failed at his task. Hoffman always seemed to be a tough guy, but what scared him the most was what John was capable of. He shook his head and sighed, a soft mumble slipping from under his breath...
"I'm coming for you, Gideon."
