Sometimes thinking of what to say on a therianthropy themed blog is hard, because most of the time my therianthropy is just:

Woke up as a cat. Went to school as a cat. Ate dinner as a cat. Drew a picture as a cat. Went to gymnastics practice as a cat. Fell asleep as a cat.

between a cold and three and a half hours of training for my beloved sport, today has been longggg and so getting to just sit and brush yarn out was great for my dead brain.

I did try to add grey yarn in but I just wasn’t digging the look, so I’m going to go with an all white tail and then paint on spots later (it’s snow leopard btw I don’t know if I mentioned that?)

I’m not loving the way the ears look, so I might scrap and restart them, which wouldn’t be the end of the world, they’re finicky to make though. I wish my local craft store sold faux fur in any other colour than bright pink rainbow.

the tail is half done, maybe? I shortened it slightly and so now it should come down to the back of my knees. everything I own is covered in fluff now.

okay this is a late night post but y’all I’m finally therian crafting again!! I’ve started work on a yarn tail, which will hopefully be complete (along with other accessories) in time for like, the one con that happens a year in my city. (In a month-ish time??) I was thinking about buying a tail or ears but then I was like….

Fuck it. What if you just try?? And now I’ve got a pile of yarn fluff and the plans for ear bases which I didn’t have three hours ago.

Update!!

I have two ear bases, and the tail is like… 1/8th complete? The most time consuming and frankly infuriating part of these crafts is brushing out the yarn, so beware!! and glueing it all down is so meessyyyyy but I’m motivating myself with the mental image of the finished product 🫡🫡

I tried that thing where you're casually open about your identity, without ever actually trying to explain otherkinity, and it fucking worked??

Went out for lunch with a guy I've only met twice, and he asked about my bison pendant. I just said that if I were an animal I'd be a bison, I relate to their resilience and stubbornness, it's kinda like a spiritual thing.

Later in the day, he commented about my not wearing a jacket in December and I jokingly asked if he'd ever seen a bison get cold (and then said something about my ADHD meds making me overheat).

And wouldn't you know it, a while later he himself made a joke about me being a bison, completely unprompted.

Incredible. I don't know what I was afraid of, I should've tried this way sooner!!
