I’ve been a fan of Jeff’s music for a couple of years (I heard Why don’t you stay and fell in love. I even started watching KP because of that song. Even though it took me over a year to finish) and only recently decided I wanted to interact more with other Saturdayss. However, I realized that because he’s also a BL actor most of his fans and hardcore shippers and as someone who doesn’t think irl shipping should be a thing I always tried my best to just ignore it (I did end up making one post on my other account a while ago about the shipping but I didn’t really mention why I don’t like irl shipping and why people shipping JBC in particular makes me uncomfortable, which turned out to be a good thing because even with that post barely getting into it people got super defensive)

When Happy Ending was first being teased I was pretty excited. Obviously, I’m a huge Jeff fan and I also think BC is really talented despite the fact that I wouldn’t necessarily consider myself a fan and honestly the KimChay pairing temporarily got me out of my writers block so the fact that they were going to be acting together again was exciting but that also meant the irl shipping was dialed up and every single interaction/interview/ SNS post was analyzed over and over again until it fit shipper’s narrative.

Still I just kept ignoring it but the past couple of days I’ve been seeing a lot of posts about shippers complaining that people were (rightfully) uncomfortable with an adult and someone who was barely a teenager being shipped together.

I know it’s not the whole fandom but it’s really unnerving how many people who claim to love Jeff have no problem pushing this narrative that a grown ass man is happily dating a teenager that he’s already known for 3/4 years but then wonder why antis (wrongfully) call him things like gr**mer and p*d*phile.

As much as I’m a fan of Jeff if he’s actually dating BC (which I genuinely don’t think he is) I don’t think I would ever be able to look at him the same way. I don’t even know if I’d still be able to listen to his music.

To Chay, WIK was like a breath of fresh air after being stuck in a cloud of smoke, he was a puzzle Chay wanted to spend the whole day solving and a labyrinth that the younger wouldn’t hesitate to get lost in.

The footsteps paused just before the exit and Kim let out a sigh so quiet Chay could only hope that he imagined it.
