Lumine: Tirzad. I've been deliberately trying to forget about that guy for the past two years.

Paimon: Oh yeah! Now that Paimon thinks about it, the resemblance is uncanny.

Mualani: Have you met someone like Viramdra before, Traveler?

Lumine: Sort of. Let me put it this way: if I had one mora for every time I got caught up in a snotty Akademiya researcher's vanity expedition where he frequently argued with the guide and almost got himself killed multiple times, I would have two mora. Which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice.

Mualani: Wow, you really have seen everything, haven't you?

Lumine: Nah, I've just gotten used to stuff like this, for better or worse. Believe it or not, this trip is like the third time this year I've intentionally jumped into a whirlpool.

Mualani: I was wondering why you were so unfazed when I suggested that. I guess after a lifetime of adventures, nothing scares you anymore, huh?

Aether has moments where he dissociates severely. It’s never in a fight but sometimes he disappears for days into the middle of no where, making it a 50/50 chance that Paimon would fly off to find someone nearby that could help her find him.

In the Fortress of Meropide (i keep mispelling that name) it’s at least easier to find him, even though he finds ways to hide in seemingly impossible places. He always looks confused when he ends up regaining clarity in Sigewinne’s office and gets shoved water and food into his hands, because he hasn’t been consuming anything the entire time he went missing.

Mostly because the way Paimon would get worried sick is heart breaking, and it’s weird to see her without the traveler, the inmates tend to help in the search.

The Fontaine trio siblings have an easier time finding him since Lyney’s magic shows often involve hiding in places, and Freminet has experience in finding lost objects. Wriothesley, since he knows the layout of his place, also has an easy time finding him.

It’s not something frequent and back to back, but there are times when things go too quiet, and Aether will just…. Space out. People have noted this pattern, and started to see often come over to either give Aether something to do or just chat with him.

Lyney emphasizes with the anxiety Paimon feels when the traveler just disappears, and has subtly marked Aether with elemental traces to make tracking him down easier.

Aether is of course embarrassed and confused whenever this happens. It’s been getting worse with each region, and he thought it wouldn’t be too big of a deal, but now he’s not so sure anymore, with how the length of time he would be gone is increasing.

Several people in different nations had expressed their concerns about the added danger these episodes would bring Aether, and how maybe he shouldn’t be too quick to rush to the next nation.
