Febroary day 26 - Jaguarundi
Here is my Jaguarundi! They have grey variants of their species but I decided to go for the red one to create a nice contrast.
Did you know? That unlike other neotropical cats they have 38 chromosomes instead of 36 which other small cats have. They also show several features seen in carnivorous mammals, like the otter and weasels!

Febroary day 25 - Cheetah
This one took a while, drawing the spots on all the cheetahs alone took me more than 3 hours.
Many of you probably know that the cheetah is the fastest land animal.
But did you know? That their face markings help them deflect the bright sun light, allowing them to see better during the day. These markings are called malar marks/stripes.
Another fun fact is that their tail act as a rudder to change direction quickly when chasing a prey.
They are also considered vulnerable which means they are at risk of extinction in the wild. The Asiatic cheetah only has a few dozen of them left and is critically endangered.

Febroary day 24 Canada lynx
The last Lynxes of the challenge! Surely quite the challenge they proved! Took some time to figure out how I could create their thick fur coat, they required a bit more than just brush strokes!
Hope you like it! Let me know in the comments!
Did you know? That the Canada lynx thick fur paws help them move quicker and easier across the snow!

Febroary day 21 - Black panther
Here is my black panther! I find black colouring quite the challenge! I'm very proud of how this one turned out, I think it is definitely my best panther!
Did you know? That the term black panther is used for 2 different species. The Leopard and the jaguar. The melanistic colour variant of the black Leopards living in Africa and Asia, where the black Jaguar lives in South America.

Febroary day 20 - Iberian Lynx
I was unable to work on the Febroary days this weekend so this one took a little longer.
Last year Febroary inspired me to write a novel about an Iberian Lynx family, so meet Iberia, Nixy and their mom!
Did you know? That the Iberian Lynx was on the verge of extinction. There were around 94 individuals left in 2002, this number has luckily gone up to 1668 as of May 2023.
If you like my illustration please leave a like! Also let me know what you think in the comments!

Febroary day 18 - Felis catus
Also known as the domestic cat! I had to include this prompt since it allows me to draw my little baby, Rayla!
Rayla is an Egyptian Mau, and her fur matches very well between all the wild cats!

Febroary day 13 - Puma
I find Puma's the hardest to draw, especially the adults, still haven't gotten the hang of their fur, but I figured it is good enough to call it done for today. Got more wild cats to draw!
