WalterJona week day 5 - True Convictions

This comic is actually based on dialogue that's in the game. If you side with Walter after the Shen Duque split and return to the barracks, you'll find Jonathan there and have this conversation with him. Since the original convo was between Jonathan, Walter, and Flynn, I had to change it up a bit to make it so that Jonathan's only addressing one person and not two but the meat of the original convo is still here. Anyways, I chose this scene for the true convictions prompt cuz I thought it was a good scene that showed how both are dedicated to their respective causes but don't despise the other and still care for each other. Also I think the "I saw no one when I came here" line from Jon is him trying to think up of a lie to give to the rest of the samurai when they inevitably find out abt Walter's betrayal and interrogate Jonathan about Walter's location. Meaning that even after the split, Jonathan is still willing to protect Walter since he still cares a lot for him.

I'm excited to announce that after much preparation, I have organized a community Ship Week event and a Magma paint chat room dedicated to the Hoyboy and Cat Angel Man themselves: Walter and Jonathan from SMTIV! 😈😇 Despite these two being an iconic alignment duo, and the SMTIV duology establishing their deep bond rife with with all the classic shipping tropes throughout the games (even with their JP voice actors having many Boy's Love roles LOL), there actually isn't much out there for this pairing.

We can strive to change that!

--- 💙As a personal aside: This is the first time I've ever organized a community-wide event like this outside of the usual Megaten Drawpile/Magma paint chat sessions that I'd typically host on Bluesky--especially doing everything entirely myself such as: the research, the graphics, drawings, the lengthy FAQ, the WalterJona quotes compilation within the FAQ, social media posts like this one LOL, and more. This was a huge labor of love in wanting to bring together the mainline SMT fandom in some small shape or form for these two silly Samurai goobers that I love a lot, and whom also absolutely deserve much more love too!🙏💕 All of this said: Don't hesitate to join in if you'd like to participate! i wanna find and befriend more people that share the same interests as me, i don't really have friends that are as much as i am into things i enjoy lately esp smt/megaten. interacting feels so hard for me though, i always overthink everything because i'm scared of somehow hurting or embarrassing anyone. even when i try to praise people's works, i either find the courage to send it or i delete and feel like a failure :D

sometimes i feel silly enough to randomly comment the dumbest thing ever on post of people i barely know or people's dms on ffxiv but then there's a voice inside my head that tells me it's not a good idea to make more social connections because i'm gonna get hurt

im a mess, my brain has decided i cant win when it comes to social interactions so i think i will go boom instead
