This semester I worked real hard on making a dummy for a children’s book about a Young dinosaur going to summer camp! It was a whole lot of work but I love how it turned out, and I learned SO MUCH about digital painting. Here’s the three finished illustrations I did for it!

I’m also thinking of putting the dummy on gumroad for pwyw / free: would anyone be interested in reading it?

the best thing about pacific rim is that it's a film about the power of love in all its forms and how humanity's ability to work together and communicate with each other is our greatest strength, but it's also a film about a giant robot beating the shit out of a sea monster with a laser cannon, a boat, knuckledusters made from cargo containers and a chainsaw sword to the sexiest bass lines ever used in cinema

Oh man, I love this drawing. I did it in the hour before my first Children’s Book class, and I think in a way it inspired what my book is turning into. I love dinosaurs, and while I think Paleoart, when done realistically is super cool, I think there’s a big need for more stylized and weird interpertations too. Extant animals are so weird- who’s to say their extinct relatives aren’t aswell?
