when im playing a game alone and theres danger i am quiet and stoic, by necessity. when im playing with friends and theres danger i start screaming and sqwuaking like a chimp to communicate over long distance that there is danger and i am distressed. well I JUST NOTICED there’s a couple chapters she has it undone. and it’s after they have a bath when Marcille is dungeon lord.

SO THEN I WONDERED. does it stay untied like that all the way til the end?

NO. IT DOESN’T.

frankly i don't think kim dokja sees yoo joonghyuk as enough of a person to romantically love him in the beginning of orv. let aloneeee the million other neuroses he has about him. i really don't think kim dokja could feel romantic feelings for yoo joonghyuk because hes too busy clinging to the character of yoo joonghyuk and all the things he represents for kim dokja - a mentor figure, a power fantasy, someone to take responsibility for, a valuable tool to use, the center of the universe - that he cannot see the actual person in front of him.

hes too busy being enamoured with the impression yoo joonghyuks character has left on him to even let him be a true companion - the difference between the way kim dokja treats and (to some extent) trusts his other companions compared to yoo joonghyuk who he is eternally yanking around on a long chain is so stark. he just knows and loves yoo joonghyuk way too much as a character at this point to know and love him as a person. which i think is so very fun, especially considering my personal headcanon that yoo joonghyuk catches feelings very early on and is stuck in unrequited limbo with a man who cannot even see him as a person, not to mention a valid love interest.
