Edgeworth was prepared to launch into her questions when she heard Wright’s response and she huffed. 

❝ Please retract your mind from the gutter. I need your help on this case. ❞ She explained, pulling out the folder and sliding it to Phoenix. ❝ The entire office has been at a dead end with this, and I thought stepping in would help, but not even I can figure this out. ❞ She said, sighing as she lifted a pen. ❝ I was hoping a fresh pair of eyes from the opposing side would help. ❞

Phoenix shrugged a little at her huffing and explanation, deep down he knew he was right with his comments, she just didn’t admit it.

“I think your mind is the one in the gutter, Edgeworth. I wasn’t implying much, but you took it to a whole different level.” He replied quietly, before he looked at the folder she placed on the desk, humming gently as he read through it. “So an entire office of prosecutors can’t solve it, yet you expect an attorney to? Talk about pressure.”

The prosecutor rolled her eyes, but that didn’t stop the blush from rising into pale cheeks. She was tempted to bite back, but she decided to let it go. For now.  She waited for Phoenix to finish, then she sighed and sat back, arms folding over her chest. ❝ Surprisingly, yes. However, I don’t expect you to have the answers. I just wish to see if perhaps you would have better luck with this than we do. ❞

Her cheeks warmed as she nodded and averted her gaze, clearing her throat. Despite how long they have been together, she still found it rather difficult expressing her thoughts.
