Quentin Skeptor - The self proclaimed myth buster
Intrigued by the town's quaintness (and hoping to write a scathing report debunking the town’s “fertility myths”), Quentin Skeptor, a skeptical, grumpy and ever eager investigator, moved to a small house in a secluded area of Strawberry Acres to bring the truth to the light.
So basically I started a new safe file with an idea of "The Wicker man but less disturbing, more gay mpreg stuffs", and unpopulated Strawberry Acres is perfect for that ijbol.

Enjoy this grumpy gremlin 😌

Grim Reaper makeover for Veronese Island (Custom world by Bazildc)
In life, he was Giuliano di Ardovino, a charismatic nobleman born to a once-prominent family that had fallen into decline. Known for his poetic charm, intelligence, and skill with a rapier, Giuliano navigated the politics of Veronese Isle with elegance, using his words as deftly as a sword. However, he lived with a deep-seated fear of mortality, believing his noble blood deserved to leave a lasting legacy.
After an ill-fated love affair with a married noblewoman, he was challenged to a duel by her husband. Though a skilled fighter, Giuliano was ultimately slain, a tragedy spoken of in whispers across Veronese Isle. But death offered him an unexpected reprieve. Instead of being consigned to the afterlife, he was given the chance to become a Reaper, a guide between life and death—a proposition he accepted eagerly, seeing it as a way to continue his legacy in a new form.

Reblog if you are a simblr of either the Sims 2 or the Sims 3 (or both).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I wanna support more simblr accounts despite have being retired from Sims role playing myself, especially since they're overshadowed by the Sims 4 nowadays. I have nothing against those who enjoy the Sims 4, but as a long time simmer I still wish to support other fellow simmers who are active in the same simblr as the one I grew up with. 🫶🏻
And yes, you're free to reblog this even if you're retired but still love the Sims!

cringing anytime i engage with phantom of the opera analysis because there is an obsession with casually throwing around the term 'gaslighting' when it comes to raoul's relationship with christine. gaslighting "is a form of psychological abuse or manipulation in which the abuser attempts to sow self-doubt and confusion in their victim's mind." at no point does raoul gaslight christine. he'd have to know the phantom is real first, and for the most of the story, he doesn't.
raoul does not believe an angel sent by christine's dead father is teaching her how to sing and he tells her as much. this is not gaslighting. at no point in either the book or the musical does he seek to sow self-doubt or confusion in christine's mind. in fact, her confusion is the thing that is deeply disturbing to him. he wants her sane, and healthy, and whole, and he fears grief has driven her insane to the point she has imagined herself a new father in the form of an angel of music sent to her from gustave daaé in heaven.
the fact raoul does not understand almost until it is too late the danger he and christine are facing is one of the most tragic aspects of the story. this tension is not there if you believe raoul knows the phantom exists all along and is trying to trick christine into thinking he doesn't.
nobody has to like raoul. in truth, i enjoy his niche appeal very much. it's like a cute little club. don't like him because you find him boring, a poor foil for the phantom, or a poor match for christine. that's perfectly fine and even fun! but don't make up abuse that isn't present in either the book or the theatrical production to justify your dislike. it's not necessary!

The de Chagny Siblings
"Philippe Georges Marie Comte de Chagny was just forty-one years of age. He was a great aristocrat and a good-looking man, above middle height and with attractive features, in spite of his hard forehead and his rather cold eyes. He was exquisitely polite to the women and a little haughty to the men, who did not always forgive him for his successes in society. He had an excellent heart and an irreproachable conscience."
"Euphroisine Marguerite de Chagny, though unemployed, carried herself with a breezy confidence. She loved nothing more than to travel and invest in stocks, finding her own ways to enjoy life and sustain herself. Her tall, slender figure and mischievous almond-shaped eyes gave her an air of independence that was hard to pin down. Though in her spinster years, she still possessed the lightness of spirit of someone far younger, always ready for the next adventure or opportunity that came her way."
"Hortense Cécile de Chagny was a quiet and unassuming figure, her demure presence often overshadowed by her siblings. Yet beneath her gentle exterior lay a sharp mind and a burning ambition. At her transition to thirty years of age, she had already begun to make her mark as a writer and an emerging voice in politics. Her fair complexion and soft golden curls gave her an almost ethereal beauty, though it was her calm, steady gaze that hinted at the strength within her. Reserved in manner, she spoke with a sincerity that was impossible to ignore."
"The shyness of the sailor-lad—I was almost saying his innocence—was remarkable. Raoul Vicomte de Chagny seemed to have but just left the women’s apron-strings. As a matter of fact, petted as he was by his two sisters and his old aunt, he had retained from this purely feminine education manners that were almost candid and stamped with a charm that nothing had yet been able to sully. He was a little over twenty-one years of age and looked eighteen. He had a small, fair mustache, beautiful blue eyes and a complexion like a girl’s."
Tumblr media
I'm returning to the sims 3 aka second best sims game after the sims 2 so Ifl I need to recreate the POTO sillies on it. This time I think I went hard with the de Chagny siblings by giving them their dad (Philibert) and their mom for more consistent genetics which dw I toggled kill them off right at the beginning. Also includes the two unnamed sisters because honestly they deserve some attention. I also made Christine prior to this but have yet to take a proper screenshot.
And I am the realest Raoul's muscles truther!!!!

WHO CHEERED
Tumblr media
Christine updos seem to be a thing of the past for London, for both shows today Lily had her hair down all the way through, no more gathered/ponytail in masquerade and managers.
And since Eve’s wig seems to be down for masquerade as well, I think we can assume no one has an updo anymore.

Not to mention the lack of orchestration diversity, the lack of creativity in the storyline or the direction and the samey samey soundtrack thank to the small band carrying everything with their backs.
Bandai's Sera Myu feels like an actual musical adaptation for me. IDK if it's hard to understand that what makes a good musical is not being one on one faithful to the source material. What makes it good is the quality of the direction, the art and the music. Bandai Myu was so ambitious to be on par with bigger musicals, and while it didn't work sometimes, the outcome paid off.
Let's give an example of SuperS Kaiteiban, my favorite Myu from my favorite era. The lighting is exquisite, especially in the Dead Moon Kuroi no Yume and the lighting show that is La Moon. You can see how great lighting immerse you into the scenes so easily. The props are very cool, some are cheap but well they literally cut the confetti themselves in Gaiden. The little Zircon and the soul orbs of the Amazones Trio snatched my weave off my head. While the laser Pegasus was silly, I also appreciate them for trying and committing to it.
Moving on to the music and orchestration. Just compare triple dreams to whatever is the equivalent of it. Triple dreams is a very strong number that represents three factions by using their previous leitmotifs in the best way possible. Someone said it before that this is the Sera Myu's one day more. I can see it as the Final Lair as well with the powerful impact it leaves for the audience. The Nelke Myu (maybe except Nogimyu) feels like you're watching the same small band playing every score, be it love song or final battle song. I also want to talk about the vibe of the numbers but that's for another day.
I am sure I have a few things to compliment the poor Nelke Myu but I don't think I have anything at the moment. I like that Nogimyu feels very much like Bandai Myu to some extent. It is honestly my favorite modern Myu with the cool transformation sequence, the ambitious set pieces and the diverse numbers. I wish the newer Myu can take notes from it.
Ps. I don't hate Takarazuka casting. I am probably the minority here but I just need a bit of male tenor or bass to balance the chorus ensemble. I have that problem with Takarazuka's musical adaptations like Y/K Phantom or Elisabeth as well.

IF THEY WOULD, THEY COULD!
To the left, recent UK made Star Princess bodices worn in the UK and in Asia. To the right, new UK made bodices, also worn in the UK and Asia.
ROW 1: Claire Lyon in the World Tour revival, and Lucy St Louis in the West End revival
ROW 2: Pan Hangwei in Beijing, and Lucy St Louis in the West End revival
ROW 3: Lucy St Louis in the filmed West End fitting, and Son Eun Hye in the Seoul revival
ROW 4: Holly-Anne Hull in the UK Tour revival and early West End revival, and Lily Kerhoas, West End revival
ROW 5: Claire Lyon in the World Tour revival, and Kown Ga Min in the Seoul revival
I am not shaming the individual wearers. They are beautiful and talented and put on the assigned costume. I am also not shaming the individual costume makers. They make what they are asked to make. Chances are some of these bodices were even made by the same costume makers. I am shaming the decision of going from what reflects on Maria Bjørnson's rich design, to stripped-down, half-assed bodices which sometimes doesn't even seem to be properly fitted to the actress.
OK, so the general audience may not notice. But for example in photos it is quite visible. You can do better. The column to the left is a proof you both CAN and HAVE done better. As it is now some fan replicas looks a lot better than the stage equivalent. I'm not sure that's what you want. Just... up the game goddamnit!
