I hope people in this fandom actually try to enjoy the Keeper movie if/when it comes out.

Fans of original media always tear adaptations to shreds, criticizing every last detail that differs from the source media/isn't how they pictured it. With non-adaptations, people who don't like a piece of media just don't post about it, but that's not the case with adaptations.

It's horrible and unpleasant when you actually enjoy an adaptation. I hate being excited about something and going to Tumblr to find other people who enjoyed it, only to find that the top posts are all people talking about how much they hated it.

There are going to be changes, and it's not going to be exactly what I pictured. It might even be a lot different from the books. But that's part of the beauty of an adaption—it's a retelling or extension of the story, not just an identical copy in a different. And regardless, it's still Keeper, and I'm still going to have fun and enjoy it.

I just hope that there will be others who will enjoy it with me.

(And that we implement a good fandom-wide tagging system for negativity/criticism about the movie)

headcanon: tam’s ability puts a strain on his limbs so he uses mobility aids! I tend to imagine him using a cane in the beginning when he’s training at exilium, but when he returns to foxfire and starts lessons again, he switches to crutches. lihn makes sure to convince him to decorate them with so many stickers

KOTLC Art Progression :D

I was looking through some old artworks and realised how many times I’ve drawn the Wanderling Woods. I’m not quite sure why I’m so obsessed with the elven graveyard, but you’ve gotta admit it’s a cool place.

100% would get buried there.

The first drawing was done digitally using Sketchbook on a crappy school chromebook in mid 2021.

The second is a painting I did mid 2022 using acrylic paint (which was new to me at the time).

The third drawing is also done digitally, but with a proper drawing tablet (XP-Pen Artist 22-Pro) and a proper drawing application (Clip Studio Paint). This is the most recent drawing I’ve done of the Wanderling Woods, being drawn in mid 2023.

I might do another drawing again in a few months to see how I can improve it :)

one of the things that irks me in this fandom is when people get upset with Biana, Stina, Fitz, ect. for being wary of Sophie setting the warehouse on fire in Unlocked. people will be all like “i think sophie should burn down more buildings” or “the kids shouldn’t have gotten mad at sophie! she was finally doing something!” because that’s the whole point.

the elven kids were raised in a world that seemed like a utopia. violence and crime are practically unheard of. hell, fitz even says that he’s only seen like 2 tribunals in Keeper before Sophie came around. to them, it feels wrong. against everything they’ve ever been taught.

this is one of the main reasons for project Moonlark. the reason why the black swan even put Sophie with humans in the first place. to get a new perspective. Sophie understands that the risk needed to be taken. she was raised among a kind family in the human world, but she still grew up among humans, a species that elves deem “barbaric.” the black swan needed someone who could see and comprehend atrocities happening beyond the black and white scale. mr forkle even encourages sophie in her ways of thinking.

not to blame the elven kids or sophie, because both sides are valid. the kids are scared. it’s against everything they know, the regent society they grew up in. sophie is also right, as they can’t just sit and wait around for a win against the neverseen. they need to actually fight back.
