self portrait while I have the flu. I’ve been practicing some portrait and studio type photography with my camera as well and I finally figured out how to use my iphone as an external monitor so I can take shots of myself and also see them to compose them

I’ve got a pinterest full of nice cinematic scenes I collect and lately I’ve realized I need to focus more on practicing seeing values so I took an afternoon doing little studies of film stills https://www.pinterest.com/dodgeburn/cinematic-lighting/

I had to take a moment to highlight my hobby; LARPing. These are some really kickass photos from a Viking-themed live action roleplay some friends and I ran together in northern PA a few weekends ago called Dammerung LARP. We burned a funeral pyre and sang and everything! It was pretty intense. Photo credits to Erin Pierce and Frank Martinez. Directors Sam Stone and Zach Hershberger

Studies after the work of other artists. (In notes on image.) I’ve been dealing with a ticksy art problem for several years: I’ve never found a way to colorize black and white paintings that doesn’t look like shit. Well today I think I found one! I’m really proud of myself that I figured this out based on some photography techniques I’ve been studying! 😀 score 1 for the ‘learn adjacent skills and they will aid you in your main skill’ principal! I’m pretty psyched about this. I’ll shoot a demo video of this colorization method I made up once I get my PC back in working order ^_^

Another one of the cool photos I was able to nab on my Prague trip. I tried to focus on getting a nice depth of field while shooting these potion bottles and elixers in an alchemy shop window

Continuing my exploration of Marvelous Designer. I spent all evening trying to get past a bug preventing Keyshot from rendering so this is just the preview window
