Transport Restraint
Well, as the first post of the year I'd like to tell you about our first days in 2025, they weren't that exciting, nothing but waking up, eating, talking, looking for ways to break the boredom, eating that shitty food again and sleeping, the same boring schedule as always, so I had to be a little creative to find some interesting features in the prison I live in. As we're in maximum security, whenever me and inmate2398 need to leave our cellblock, from leaving the prison to collect trash from the street in a chain gang to going to the infirmary inside the prison, we're restrained, honestly I find it all very exaggerated, it's not like we'd be able to escape so easily with so many officers, walls and doors inside the prison, the officers are always very harsh with us even if we behave, in our case today we were going to collect trash on the highway together with other inmates, which will probably not be very pleasant due to the little freedom of movement, the heat, the sweat and the humiliation we will go through. Maybe you're wondering why inmate2398 and I are smiling in this pic, well, as tiring and humiliating as working in a chain gang can be, it's one of the few opportunities to see the world outside prison walls… and also because we don't usually get much of a chance to take any photos other than an updated mugshot.

Christmas and New Year in prison
Christmas and New Year's in prison is a little different, since there are no decorations, no unusual meals or gifts (except for those improvised gifts that the officers might consider contraband), and we don't even have the right to visitors on those days; for 5 or 6 days, half of the prison staff are on holiday and spend Christmas and New Year's Eve with their families, while we spend almost the whole day staring at the dull gray walls of our cells, as the prison is located practically in the middle of nowhere, far from any town, we can't see the fireworks, and even if there were fireworks here, we wouldn't be able to see them as our cells have no windows, so we have to be content with watching the officers happily hugging each other through our bars. At least me and inmate 2398 are lucky enough to have become cellmates over the last few months, having each other to talk to has made everything more bearable and we feel less alone, we try to find some comfort even locked in our cells, of course it's still embarrassing to have to use the toilet in front of her and sometimes we fight over silly things, but it's something common between cellmates, overall it's been amazing living with her and I'll love sharing this cell with her next year and for the rest of my life

Yeah, the common prison meal tastes better than nutraloaf.
My meals in prison
Last thanksgiving I ate this, the same meal I eat every day, honestly I don't even know if I can call it a meal, every day I eat three meals, breakfast, lunch and dinner, as you can see from the pictures the meals look disgusting and they really are disgusting, I remember on my first day in prison I wanted to throw up because it tasted so bad, after a while you get used to it but that doesn't make it a reasonably good meal, they probably don't spend a lot to feed us and give us only the minimum to survive. Well, at least we're not forced to eat nutraloaf every day, I guess that's something to be grateful for.

Legcuffs
You can get used to everything in prison, from living in a cell to eating the same disgusting food they give you every day, but you'll hardly get used to wearing leg cuffs. The handcuffs and waist chains are annoying, but leg cuffs can be more humiliating and uncomfortable to wear, starting with the fact that in the first few days you'll probably trip over the chains a lot, leg cuffs always put pressure on your ankle and you'll be limited to small, slow steps, plus it's simply humiliating to have to kneel down so that these legcuffs can be applied or removed. If you're a maximum-security inmate like me probably spend most of your day wearing these legcuffs, even in your cell or while showering, then the legcuffs remind you of your current status as a pathetic inmate.

This is where I spend most of my time, my cell is a bit dirty and smelly, it has a barred door that doesn't allow me to have any privacy, there are no windows, there isn't much space to walk around and there isn't much to do in here, I spend most of my time bored, I just hope that one day they will transfer me to a better cell and that I can have a cellmate to at least talk to, but so far I have to get used to my cell.
