so i got to a lot of conventions in Calgary, im wondering if you have any way to ID this guy. like a description or a picture. maybe a "company name" of his photography. business card or something. id like to find this guy and spread the word. especially at Otafest since i am one of the Gym leaders for the Otafest Pokemon League. want to make sure he is barred from my local con's.

Otafest, Nishikaze and Animethon have already been contacted and have taken the necessary steps. :) Don't worry!! I can't spread his name around otherwise it would ruin the legal steps I've taken due to 'defamation of character'. But you can rest assured I've taken all possible actions to make sure all of you are safe.

Hi there, I just want to address the beginning of the photographer post. He is within his right to take photos of people and sell them. Legally you can take photos of anyone in a public place and reserve the right to do what you want with the photos.

Yes! You’re completely right about that. However, I believe the law changes once it involves underaged children. One cannot sell photos of people under the age of 18 unless they have the direct, written permission of their parents and/or guardians. Which was the case in this particular situation. But you're right about that! :) Photographers own all rights to any photograph taken unless otherwise stated in a written contract. This includes professionally taken photographs or even just photos on a camera phone.

Defensive?? o: Oh! I’m thinking you must have thought my last reply was deadpan! My Internet cut out and messed up the reply. :) I meant that it’s been taken care of and that others shouldn’t be worried about him. I've been directed not to talk about any specifics about this event by the authorities. That's why I'm not being particularly transparent when it comes to his name or other information!

Hey, just saw your post about the creepy photo dude and really have to ask; have you given his number to the police? If he's done this multiple times then I'm fairly sure he can be arrested for attempted sexual assault. If he's changed his number then the police could at least contact the phone company and find out who the number used to be listed under the number. Sorry if this seems a little over board but he seriously attempted to get you to agree to child porn. It's seriously disgusting.

Hi! I just saw your post on the creepy photographer in your area. I don't actually live in that area, but I'm not really old enough to be able to defend myself much if someone like him tries to overpower me to try and get those kind of pictures. I may be going to a con in a few months, and I want to be prepared. do you have any advice for this? Thanks! (´ヮ`)

Everyone who attends these conventions is extremely friendly and willing to help! I suggest you go up to someone and whisper that you need protection from a creep! Everyone will be willing to help out. :)Or just make sure you're in a crowded area.
