Scully watched her intently, unsure as to quite how they had gotten to this conversation, but quite content to watch her friends eyes light up as she described something she was excited about. It was the same light that Melissa used to have when her sister expressed an interest in her holistic practices.

The two of them would sit at the kitchen table, side by side, Missy trying to cleanse Dana’s aura or teaching her how to read palms. Dana had always scoffed at her sister’s eccentricities but now she found she missed them. Desperately.

She had never fully grieved the loss of her sister, too engulfed in bringing the killer to justice, in getting revenge. Now though, as she watched her new friend and partner do the same things her sister had once shared with her she felt a sense of peace she hadn’t felt in a long time. She felt a tear she didn’t know had welled up fall down her face as Monica stopped talking.

“Are you alright?” The younger agent asked, a purple stone clasped in her hand.

“Yeah,” Dana wiped the tear from her face, “you just reminded me of someone I don’t want to forget.”

Monica reached out and took her friends hands, pressing the purple crystal into her palm.

“What’s this?” The redhead asked

“Amethyst. For peace and healing.”
