The following excerpt has been in my drafts for months, but I feel like it's been so long since I've worked on this that I ought to throw this blog a bone. We're still in T territory. No M as of yet.
Hachi felt a flash of heat rise within her as she remembered the night before, when a cackling Nana had waved her bandmates out the front door, slamming and locking it behind her as Hachi watched from the table. Nana didn’t often get this drunk, but they’d been celebrating the release of a new album and she had let loose in a way Hachi had never seen before - laughing heartily, drinking abundantly and making her way into each guest’s lap like a stray cat. It was cute. And as Hachi watched her through bleary eyes, she thought - not for the first time - that if Nana was a guy, that she definitely would have fallen for her.
“Why not as I am now?” Nana asked, a hint of a smirk playing on her lips.
Shit. Shit. I had said that out loud. Curse the Demon Lord, I can’t believe I said that! Agh...
“You’re still talking, you know?”
By this time, Nana (or drunk Nana, rather) had sidled in on the bench next to her, loosening her collar and leaning in invitingly. She had taken Hachi’s hand into her own, and she was close enough that Hachi could feel her warm breath. She wasn’t sleepy anymore. How could she be? She could feel the blood rushing to her ears, and as she felt Nana’s thumb rubbing circles on the back of her hand, she let out a small squeak.
“I asked a question... Why not as I am now?”
Nana was gazing at her directly now, long lashes framing hypnotically dark brown eyes that were unreadable. It didn’t feel like she was being teased anymore. The question sounded (or maybe that was just her wishful thinking) almost genuine.
Why not...? Because you’re a girl. Because you’re with Ren. Because we’re... roommates?
Hachi fumbled around for an answer mentally that made sense, but as Nana was in front of her, looking thoroughly debauched and wanting - none of her usual excuses worked. She didn’t have one. She didn’t want one. And she couldn’t bring herself to say a word.
She swallowed as if to speak, and by the time she had parted her lips, Nana’s were already on them. She had let go of Hachi’s hand and had brought both of her own to cup her face, and as the kiss deepened her arms naturally settled around Hachi’s neck with one hand in her hair.
Morning After
I tried looking for Nana x Hachi fic yesterday, and it was a struggle bus so here I am to write my own fic after a very, very long hiatus. Inspired by every Hachi playlist on Youtube because god bless those creators.
Synopsis: What if it didn’t matter that Nana was a girl? What if Hachi was in love with her? And what if they… kissed?
Rating: M (maybe E, we’ll see lmao - this first chapter feels more T though)
Content Warning(s): Dubcon
Pairing: A very bisexual Nana and a comphet lesbian who is currently single Hachi (Nana Osaki x Nana Komatsu)

Nana looked down at Hachi and settled an arm around her shoulders, pausing to drop the cigarette between her fingers into the ashtray on the kitchen table.

Nana's eyes softened as she patted Hachi's hair. Hearing her roommate out at the end of the day had become a sort of bedtime ritual, and though it had been annoying at first, it was secretly something she looked forward to.

As autumn sunlight streamed in through the large window over the kitchen table, Nana began to stir. It was warm, but it was bright - and the pounding in the back of her head was starting to ramp up to a pain that she couldn’t ignore. Her muscles felt stiff, and the back of her neck ached from leaning against the table all night.
Just what the fuck happened last night?
She opened her eyes, slowly so as to avoid the worst of the glare and rubbed away the remnants of last night’s eye makeup with the back of her hand. The last thing she remembered was singing loudly with Hachi on the karaoke machine that Nobuo had brought over, and then nothing. As she straightened up,  something moved in her lap. She glanced downwards.
Oh.
Hachi had shifted to bury her face into Nana’s thighs, her light brown hair tousled and messy from sleep. She was breathing steadily, the rise and fall of her chest indicating that she was still dead to this world and quite comfortable where she was. And though she had shifted relatively quickly, nothing could hide the red lipstick prints peppered across her cheeks, her neck, her lips.
Did I - ? Could we have? While we were drunk?
The idea of it didn’t upset her, but there had always been a line. A thin one, sure, but the thought that they may have crossed it without knowing it was upsetting. She groaned, and Hachi seemed to groan softly in response. She heard a quiet, “Nana...” and the arms around her waist tightened for a moment before her roommate’s eyes fluttered open, widening as she realized what she was doing. She let go and shot up, banging her head on the table in the process.
“Ow, ow, ow!” She gripped the back of her head and looked to be in almost as much pain as Nana, and her face flushed a deep pink as tears welled in her eyes.
“I’m- I’m so sorry, Nana! I didn’t mean to- I mean, I did mean to but I didn’t think I would fall asleep-” she was blubbering now, the words tumbling out in a cascade of um’s and ah’s.
“It’s okay, Hachi.”
She raised a hand to rub at the bump starting to grow on the back of Hachi’s head, smoothing her hair down in the process.
“Are you okay?”
“I’ll be f-fine,” Hachi said, averting her gaze as her voice hitched. What Nana hadn’t realized was the trail of pink lipstick marks across her own face that wound their way into her shirt - as well as the purpling hickeys on her neck and collarbones. Hachi had noticed though - after all, she had been the one to put them there.
Nana looked unconvinced, but she scooted off the bench anyways and headed to the kitchen - returning with two glasses of water and the bottle of painkillers they kept in a cabinet for hangovers. Hachi took the water gratefully, bringing the glass to her lips and swallowing two pills. A wave of relief washed over her - until Nana asked something that nearly made her choke.
“So, what happened last night?”

Nana exhaled a cloud of smoke and set her cigarette in the ashtray before her, opening her eyes to look at the patrons of the bar around her. She had missed this. The high of performing at a crappy dive bar to a crowd of adoring fans was a feeling that was… unmatched - especially after her hiatus. It had been a few months since she had left her hometown with Blast, and she had been a bit weary of performing in a large city. Sure, she wanted to make it big, but the reality of being an independent musician with no financial support was difficult to say the least. As she ran a hand through her short black hair, she locked eyes with someone across the way.
“Can I help you?”

Nana sighed, and took Hachi’s hand in her own.
‘Yes, I’m mad,’ she thought to herself - but she would never let those emotions play out on her face. She knew how difficult things were for Hachi, especially when getting over her numerous exes and paramours. It certainly wasn’t her fault that they were mostly assholes who just wanted to sleep with her, and it also wasn’t her fault that the rollercoaster of being with men had her so perplexed right now.
Nana could relate to that - after all, hadn’t that been why she had originally refused to go to Tokyo with Ren in the first place? Isn’t that why they were holding hands right now?
She brought the cigarette in her left hand to her lips and drew in a breath. She turned her face away from Hachi’s pleading eyes and exhaled, allowing the cloud of smoke to fade into the air.
Tumblr media
“I’m not mad at you, Hachiko. I’m mad at your asshole boyfriend. I don’t know what you want to call whatever we have, but don’t you think that it’s... more...” she trailed off, not knowing what she could add beyond that. More.
Under her breath, she added, “I wish I could’ve met you first.”

“  i know, but … he says he loves me. that’s what matters, right ?  “  the words start to sting every time she says it. she doesn’t want to continue the cycle she’s in with her boyfriend’s constant abandoning and cheating, and she knows the person before her is better for her. but, her fear consumes her.  “  are you mad ?  “

A Nighttime Stroll
The city lights were always mesmerizing at this time of night. As Nana walked along the river that wound through town, she thought of how life had taken her in this direction - big city, bright lights, the sound of traffic that never really stopped. The company of good friends she loved, a rivalry with someone she had been in love with, was still in love with... and the unearned adoration of her happy-go-lucky roommate.
“Hachi.”
She’d uttered Nana Komatsu’s nickname unwittingly to herself, a small smile beginning to play on her lips as she thought of what Hachi might be up to right now. Was Hachi at home making dinner? Going out to rent a movie for when she got back? Every day spent with Hachi was fun and new, and she had really grown on her since their first meeting. She supposed she could text her... if she had a phone. It didn’t matter, Nana knew that she would see her... soon... enough? Huh? Was that...?
As she walked closer, she couldn’t make out her features but there was no denying it: that was Hachi.
“Hachiko! What’re you doing here?”
