Flower Shop AU for Karushuu Week

i tweaked the prompt a little, featuring a friendly(?) neighborhood flower salesman

After graduating high school, Asano Gakushuu knew he and Akabane were going cross paths again. He just imagined it would be during a scheduled meeting or something similar- he wasn’t at all expecting the other to be the owner of the newly built flower shop on the way to his job. Asano almost didn’t recognize him, with his grown out hair and less mischievous posture, but there was no mistaking that shade of red, or the edge in the golden eyes that Asano was all too familiar with. He felt dumb, but at that moment after not seeing the latter for so many years, he felt his chest closing up at the increased beating of his heart. His cheeks flushed a shade of red as he remembered all of the buried feelings resurfacing again.

It took me 1 minute to draw the characters and like a whole 15 to draw the flowers. AU were Karma owns a shop for poisonous flowers and Gakushuu is his best customer for some reason.

Red rose: “love, longing or desire. The number of roses has special romantic meanings associated with them.  12 roses is the most popular of all which conveys “be mine” and “I love you”. 

Ambrosia: “ your love is reciprocated.”

In which Karma plans to confess to Gakushuu but doesn’t expect that:

Gakushuu is helping in the flower shop he’ll get the flowers

Starts panicking so he kind of confesses to Gakushuu

Both are nerds and know flower language

If I may, can I have some clarification on what "Shadow" means ??

Hi anon,

I tried to make the themes kind of vague and have some variety to them. You can think of it symbolically (internal struggle, being in someone’s shadow) or take it in a more literal sense (the visual effect of a shadow).

It’s up to your interpretation and in the end, these are just suggestions so you can make them as heavy or subtle as you’d like, or just go in another direction altogether.
