I am a street photographer in New York City. Several months ago, I was approached by a representative of DKNY who asked to purchase 300 of my photos to hang in their store windows “around the world.” They offered me $15,000. A friend in the industry told me that $50 per photo was not nearly enough to receive from a company with hundreds of millions of dollars of revenue. So I asked for more money. They said “no.” Today, a fan sent me a photo from a DKNY store in Bangkok. The window is full of my photos. These photos were used without my knowledge, and without compensation. I don’t want any money. But please REBLOG this post if you think that DKNY should donate $100,000 on my behalf to the YMCA in Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn. That donation would sure help a lot of deserving kids go to summer camp. I’ll let you guys know if it happens.

Less talking, more listening; more reading, more writing; less sugar, more vegetables; less people in my Facebook newsfeed who I don’t even remember how they came to be there, more real friends; less superlatives, more taking the time to find the right words; less exclamation points, more authenticity; less laziness, more being a productive human who doesn’t let time go to waste; less sleeping in, more walking through Central Park on Sunday mornings; less staying in, more living; less trains, more walking; less spending, more saving; less chats, more letters (remember those?); less “sup dude, hope you’ve been good”, more taking the time to actually stay close to friends both near and far; less judging people, less judging myself; less digital, more film; less computers, more trees; less drinking; more music; more concerts; more jokes; less about myself, more about others; more old friends, more new friends; less pasta, more pizza; less NY, more Paris; less only having read maybe 5 books in an entire year, more reading all the time and becoming a smarter person because I ain’t going back to college; less getting stuck, more working towards what I want; less taking things for granted, more appreciating the fact that my life and my friends are too good for words; less ambiguity, more honesty; less thinking too much, more embracing the moment.
