Désir de toi, désir brûlant, désir ardent, désir traversé par ton souffle, désir caressant le blues du lundi, désir de connexion, désir écarlate, désir bourgeonnant, désir qui se sculpte, désir m'étouffant en transe. Désir qui effleurent la folie, l'embrasse, douce et enivrante. Quelque fois rugueuse. Folie bleue, emportée par les va-et-vient des vagues du corps. Je me délecte de la profondeur de tes sons, de tes sens. Impatience bouillonnante au creux de mes seins. Eternelles étincelles, chaleur dangereuse montante. Contemplation. Si doux, battant sans relâche. J'ambitionne mes sentiments.

"Mhm. No take-backsies, not at all! I wouldn't dream of it!"

She nods her head rapidly as if cementing in the fact for herself, and she's all too happy to place her hands on his. She can feel it, somehow; the tiredness in his voice, the relief in it... And maybe, something in her feels as if this has gone on longer than she's realized. It fills her heart with warmth.

"Okay..." she speaks slowly at first, as if trying to quell the excitement in her own heart. "Okay, then you will be. From now on... It'll be you always."

With a soft laugh, she allows herself to fall into his arms, a sign of resignation, and a sign of complete surrender to her own feelings for him.

"Silly. Why'd it take us this long? I feel like... I've liked you like this for as long as I can remember, too... Kinda weird, huh? Do you believe in soulmates? I wonder if this's what it feels like..."

The words she hears from him bring a nearly giddy smile on her face, and she has to lower her head in an attempt to hide it, undeniably feeling her heart flutter. She doesn't really know if it's part of the act he's picked back up, but part of her feels as if it's genuine—perhaps, because she wants it to be.

When she clears her throat to look at him again, it's the way he gazes at her that makes her heart stop—she very well could have lost her composure, had it not been for the next words that he spoke.

"Wh— hey!" she protests, huffing in mock offense as her arms rest to cross over her chest. "I do not look like a shrimp when I sleep! I'd prefer to think I look like something a little cuter, at least enough for you to—"

She pauses, and realization dawns on her expression as her cheeks grow slightly pink. She promptly shuts her mouth. He didn't need her to finish that sentence; whatever afternoon nap dreams she had didn't need to be said. "Never... nevermind."

"Is... that what this is?"

And she wouldn't let him turn away, not if she could help it. Again she tugged at his shirt, as if trying to look at him again.

"Xavier... I was only being friendly. And he was, too, right? If you're asking me to choose between you and anyone else, then there isn't even a choice, like... ever. It's always gonna be you, Xavi."

Slowly, her hand reached for his.

"Were you jealous? Seriously, tell me what's on your mind. I..." she scratched her cheek with her free hand, suddenly feeling a little guilty for snapping at him.

"I don't like arguing with you, so. So we gotta work this out, right?"

She's speaking slowly, carefully. She looks at their intertwined fingers as she does so, and even in the comfort of her own apartment, she can't deny that the unspoken tension in the air is still there.

She knows the cause of it, of course; sometimes he's easy for her to read, and the time they've been spending together has made things a little more obvious. But there's something off about it—something she feels that she has to address.

He can be so polite when he wants to be. Yet... Now that we're alone, why do I feel like I've walked into a tiger's den?

Gently, she tugs at his arm.

She'd push it just a little further.

"I mean, remember when we were new neighbors on that one mission we went on before? The ladies were so nice to us. So... why don't we be like that, too? We could always go together some other time, just the two of us. Like... a date! Right, Xavier?"

With a grin, she turns—
