13. Too loud

“Shhh!” Athena hisses as she pulls the plug on the vacuum. Bobby raises an eyebrow. “I just got him to sleep. You can do this later.”

“Kids can learn to sleep with noise,” Bobby says, walking back to plug it in. “Besides, when is there time to vacuum when Buckaroo is awake? He’ll want to help and while that’s very sweet his version of help…”

“So, I’ll distract him. Seriously, Bobby. The boy has been at a 10 all morning. If you wake him…”

“A little vacuuming won’t hurt…”

A soft voice comes from the bottom of the stairs. “Mama? Daddy?”

Athen and Bobby spin around. Buck stands there, rubbing his eyes with one hand, the other clutching his dalmatian to his chest. Athena frowns.

“I’m sorry, baby. Was that mean vacuum being too loud?”

Buck nods. Athena shoots Bobby an “I told you so” look. Her husband sighs. “I’m sorry, Champ. That’s Daddy’s fault. Come here, I’ll get you back to bed.” He bends down and lifts Buck into his arms.

“Daddy in twouble?” Buck asks, looking at Athena curiously.

“I think your daddy could use a little timeout,” she says, with a twinkle in her eye. “Laying with you in bed.”

“Oh no,” Bobby fakes a groan. “Such a punishment.”

Buck sleepily giggles, burying his head in Bobby’s neck.

I have too many WIPs, BUT I got this idea awhile ago and am finally writing it for @cianmarstoo, a very good (and old) friend. It's a multi-chapter CG!MerDer & Little!Alex AU where Mer became Alex's caregiver after Derek went back to Addison in S2. But now Addison and Derek are divorced, Derek and Meredith are back together, and Alex has some *feelings* on his mom's new boyfriend...

“Do you think Mom dates?” Derek asks, twirling his stirrer around his mostly empty coffee cup.

Mark raises a brow as he takes a sip of his own. “Why are you asking me that?” “I’m just trying to think about it. How I’d feel now…how I would’ve felt if she started dating when we were still kids.”

“I see.” Mark lowers the cup onto the table. “And would these “wonderings” have anything to do with the kid of a certain resident you’re dating again?”

“I’m talking about me, Mark.”

“Okay, so pretend we are, you and Alex Karev aren’t the same person. So, if you’re trying to get inside his head, that may not be how to do it.”

Derek grumbles, flicking the stick across the table. Mark chuckles and shakes his head.

“Okay, maybe you two are more alike than I thought.”

“Forget I said anything.”

“Derek, look. I’m not going to pretend I’ve been a perfect guy…especially not within the last couple of years…but you seriously have to understand why the kid can’t stand you.”

“I never said I didn’t!” Derek runs his fingers through his hair. “I get it. I hurt Meredith. He’s protective of her. I didn’t expect him to be warm and sunny, but keying my car?”

“I dunno, dude. He could’ve decked you the minute he saw you for the first time after you hurt her.”

Derek clicks his tongue. “Thanks. This is helpful.”

I’m so tired of this stupid cycle. If they are going to make Buddie happen can they do it and stop with the pathetic build up? I honestly see no progress with any of the relationships. I don’t see the romantic chemistry and I don’t see Eddie anywhere near questioning his sexuality, so atp we are going to have 5 more seasons of ship baiting 😞

I'm so sad, dude. Oliver is showing is his ass, and i lowkey feel betrayed that everyone behind the scenes was framing this as possible end game. like, what was the point of all the longing glances to end it like this?

i could get over the ship, and the awful bland breakup and i’m a firm believer in actors are human too so we must give them grace. but oliver being biphobic???
