hello and welcome! I'm J (he/him) and i post here about my silly little stories and things. right now, i have two primary ones:

The Ballad of Ealin and Nilra (placeholder title) - a high fantasy novel duology about a young prince named Ealin, who knows only his comfortable life and doesn't understand much of what's outside the castle walls. That is, until he meets Nilra, a peasant kid a year older than Ealin who's been hand-selected to become his magically soul-bound knight and sworn protector. Slowly, they begin to show Ealin what it's really like in the kingdom - and what it's really like to have a friend. Years later, when war breaks out in the neighboring kingdom, their bond is tested as they're called to join Ealin's father on the front lines. Can they beat the odds and manage to survive the war while also dealing with death, treachery, forbidden magic, and the feelings they've both been ignoring... and will they even still be friends once it's all over? (currently in the middle of the first draft of book one)

Panoptica - A realistic fiction story about the titular reality tv game show where contestants are live streamed all day, every day, for an enraptured global audience. Robin Walker has been watching since he was a kid, and thinks getting on it is his last chance to get away from his depressing life, transphobic family, and dead-end hometown for good - that is, if he can win the big cash prize that waits for him at the end. But when Indigo Briggs, a former contestant who nearly won a couple seasons ago (who also happens to be Robin's celebrity crush) ends up as his competitor, Robin will have to decide what's more important: taking the risk and letting the entire internet watch as he falls for a boy who would never love him back, or doing whatever it takes to win - even if it means destroying anyone who gets in his way.
