Sunday Special - Chole Bhature
#ManeeshSays
What’s the secret behind an unforgettable plate of chole bhature? Here in Delhi, Sundays are practically synonymous with this iconic dish—everyone seems to love it! As someone who isn’t from Delhi, I’ve always been intrigued by the frenzy around it.
So, what really makes chole bhature great? Is it the perfectly fermented dough for soft, fluffy bhature? The rich, dark, and flavorful chole gravy? The tangy kick from dry pomegranate seeds? Or perhaps the sliced onions, spicy pickles, and that unmistakable indulgence of oil and spices?
What’s your take? What’s the magic that makes chole bhature irresistible? And more importantly, where do you go in Delhi to satisfy your chole bhature cravings?
For me, it’s Durga Misthan Bhandar at Ring Road Market, Nauroji Nagar. What’s your favourite spot? Let’s hear it!

The Fake world of Instagram
#ManeeshSays
I sometimes wonder—why is Instagram overflowing with so much superficial nonsense? Apparently, no one has ever had a bad experience anywhere. Ever. Every place is amazing, breathtaking, and a must-visit. Seriously, how is that even possible? A while back, I visited a place in the heart of Lutyens’ Delhi, and trust me, the experience was pathetic—if not the absolute worst. But guess what? Online, it had the most glowing, sugar-coated reviews. Either I went to a parallel universe, or people have really low standards. Anyway, I’ll rant about that place some other time. Last week, I decided to check out Espressos Anyday because, apparently, it’s the place to be in Gurgaon right now. I thought, Maybe this is something extraordinary. Maybe their coffee is the hidden gem I’ve been searching for. Well… turns out, it’s just an overhyped, overcrowded, glorified cafeteria with a minimalist design that looks like they ran out of budget halfway. And their menu? Oh, they sell everything under the sun. The coffee? As basic as it gets—something you could find at any random joint on the street. But the best part? They decided that white sugar is too mainstream and served me brown sugar instead. Without asking. Because, you know, brown sugar is apparently cooler (never mind that it’s worse for you than actual poison). When I asked for white sugar, their reaction was priceless—like I’d just asked for a unicorn in my latte. Anyway, since there’s absolutely nothing special about this place, I’ll happily stick to my all-time favorite in Gurgaon—COMORIN. P.S. – Don’t fall for everything you see on Instagram. There’s a 100% chance it’s fake, staged, and designed to trap gullible people into bad decisions. hashtag#JustManeesh

#ManeeshSays Ghar ka Khana I know this is going to ruffle some feathers, but someone has to say it. So here it is—loud and clear: If you want to eat ghar ka dal, roti, and chawal, do yourself (and everyone else) a favor—stay home and let your mom or wife cook for you. Oh, and FYI, dal makhani and butter chicken weren’t passed down by some great culinary goddess. They were happy accidents—born out of day-old tandoori chicken and tomatoes that were about to be trashed. But of course, some restaurant customers feel the need to grace chefs with their unsolicited gyan, blissfully unaware of the sweat and chaos that goes into putting a dish on the table. Ideally, these self-proclaimed food connoisseurs should take a little detour into a busy kitchen and see the madness for themselves. But no, it’s much easier to sit behind a screen and critique dishes without ever stepping foot in a commercial kitchen. And one last thing—Champaran is NOT a dum dish. It’s slow-cooked, and the real magic is in bhunoing the masala with the mutton. But hey, what do I know? Just my two cents. hashtag#JustManeesh
