Georgie was...taken aback. Counselor training program? This...that wasn’t a part of the--

The teen took a deep breath. Of course. He just...didn’t understand why he wasn’t told about this? Him and Richard had been in contact a lot. This should have been something that he should have brought up...right?

“O-oh!” Georgie clutched his hands in front of himself. “A-A c-counselor in training? That...that...that is...that is e-exciting!” Georgie tried to seem as happy as his body could let him. But in all honesty? He felt terrified. His stomach churned as he stood there. He knew that David meant well, but his father...?

...He meant well. He had to. He wouldn’t do this without reason.

“Th...Thank you s...sooo...you sooo much!”

Oh.

When David mentioned his father, he finally understood what had happened. He fiddled with his hands before he looked down to the ground, thinking of something to say. 

“…I…I’m…I’m so…so sorry- I…Didn’t…diiiidn’t want…didn’t want p-people to worry about…about m-me-” Getting a little frustrated with his speech, he took a deep breath to try to calm down. He continued to play with his hands until David mentioned having something for him. The boy looked up.

“…A-A…A gift…? You…you…yooooooou- didn’t have…have to-” 

     Seeing the boy struggle with his words, David waits with a patient smile for them to finish. Perhaps David sounded like he was berating the boy–and he IS upset that he didn’t catch his birthday in time, but much to his pleasure he still gets to gift the teen with a phenomenal surprise!

     “Well, it’s more like a gift from me AND your father. After he enlightened me on your age, we got to talking seriously about some opportunities that are now open to you,” excitement fills his chest and he’s bouncing on his toes as he nears the climax of the news,“and after your father let me know just how much more involved you want to be, we’ve decided to sign you up in our counselor training program!”

     “Isn’t this exciting!!”

When David mentioned his father, he finally understood what had happened. He fiddled with his hands before he looked down to the ground, thinking of something to say. 

“...I...I’m...I’m so...so sorry- I...Didn’t...diiiidn’t want...didn’t want p-people to worry about...about m-me-” Getting a little frustrated with his speech, he took a deep breath to try to calm down. He continued to play with his hands until David mentioned having something for him. The boy looked up.

“...A-A...A gift...? You...you...yooooooou- didn’t have...have to-”

Georgie almost threw his toothbrush into the air. He let out a panicked scream before he realized it was David. WAS HE IN TROUBLE??? DID HE DO SOMETHIN–

“…M…my whAT-?” Georgie looked at David as if he had five heads. He took a few seconds to fully process what David had said. His…his birthday was in March? Did…did David hear something wrong? …Might as well have him explain.

     “Your birthday, Georgie!” he repeats, oblivious to the quizzical look the teen was giving him,“I just got off the phone with your father and, among other things in our conversation, he told me you turned fifteen recently!”

     Of course that wasn’t the POINT of the phone call, but it is the most upsetting fact. He doesn’t have ice cream or a gift or–WELL, actually…

     He sighs and straightens up with a smile to push away his disappointment. “I wish you’d told me about it sooner, but you’re lucky I’ve got a special gift for you anyway.”

Where’s Reese?

Georgie sat up, letting his phone ring. He...was there before he went to bed. After he answered his phone and talked for a few minutes, he put his phone into his pocket. He had expected Reese to come back by now but...He wasn’t there.

Stepping out of the tent, he decided that he wanted to go for a walk for a bit. He was kinda hoping that he would find Reese on the journey.

Reese rubbed the sleep from his eyes, yawning as he did so. He’d been sitting on the dock for about an hour, letting his mind relax. Things had been a bit hectic lately, and he needed time away from everything. What better time than the middle of the night? The last thing he wanted to deal with was a nightmare, and he knew the stress would get to him, so this seemed like the next best thing.

For Georgie, it was a pretty average day for him at camp. Well…so far that it. He had just woken up. After he had laid in bed for a few minutes with the covers over his head, he peaked out to see if Reese was still there. Thankfully, he was not.

Once the coast was clear, the teen quietly shuffled out of bed and began his morning routine of putting on some makeup and getting dressed. He had do do that before doing anything else like brushing his teeth. He didn’t want anyone else to see him without looking presentable.

Georgie grabbed his phone and checked it. Nothing important.

He then grabbed a baggie that contained a toothbrush and some toothpaste and headed out of the tent.

Now, the boy still wasn’t aware of what was coming to him. Rich- his dad didn’t tell him about the CIT thing. At all. He was completely oblivious to it as of right then and there.

     WHAM! The counselor cabin door slammed open, revealing the camp director with a horrified look on his face. He’d just gotten off the phone with Georgie’s dad, and while the conversation contained exciting plans for the teen’s future, David had learned something VITAL in it that he immediately needed to confront Georgie with.

     Luckily, the camper was just leaving his tent when David stepped out, but the man was far too rattled to watch his volume with the shy teen.

     “GEORGIE! HANG ON!” the man practically pounced at the teen with that wild look in his eyes, and once he finally reached him he had to keep himself from grabbing the poor kid’s shoulders and shake him like a doll.

     “I AM SO SORRY WE MISSED YOUR BIRTHDAY. YOU COULD’VE TOLD ME AND WE WOULD’VE HAD A PARTY OR–OR SOMETHING.”

Oh, thank goodness. Someone he felt comfortable around. He sighed, twiddling his thumbs from under the sheet.

“...O-oh...haha- th...thanks. I...I-I didn’t...have a real c-costume so...” He moved his arms out from under the sheet and gestured to himself.

“Sh...sheet....sheet ghost-” Promptly putting his arms back under the blanket, he looked back at David.

“Y-you...you looooook...look aw-awfully....f-...funny?” It took him a second to process his own sentence. “I...In...in a g...g-good way...!”

If you were a character, how would the audience perceive you?

Lesbians love you

you belong to the lesbians. everyone else knows this understands it and accepts it. you’re probably really cute personality wise and you either look edgy or you look like you’re an actual goddess. if you’re a male then i can’t even tell you what it is, but you just have That Energy that lesbians love. maybe a little awkward very sweet never talks about women negatively. you’re perfect. literally i hope you never feel insecure because there are a billion lesbians in the audience crying over you headcanoning you as either a lesbian or warrior of the lesbians.
