Dean couldn't stand to look at Sam's face. Couldn't bear to see his little brother so tainted and impure. Images of Sammy drinking demon blood like water almost haunted him in a way. Dean tried to drown it out by getting drunk. It didn't help soothe the burn of Sam choosing Ruby, a demon, over him. In fact it just fanned the flames until his anger boiled over. He hit Sam. Again. This wasnt the first time, and it wouldn't be the last. Dean was doing Sam a favor, beating the impurities out of him. That's what he told himself to justify the aftermath. Dean straddling Sam, his knuckles bloody from making a mess of Sam's face. The worst part- Sam didn't even put up a fight. He just took it, because he deserved it. This was his cross to bare, his consequence for going behind Dean's back. For disobeying him.

I have such a spot, can’t say soft per se because I’m not sure if it’s that or something far worse, for Sam, when he was still smaller, being folded and tucked into Dean’s too big jacket and his big brother’s arms keeping him safe locked away so he can’t escape and close. Or Dean standing behind him, still mountains taller, and keeping Sammy pressed to his front with arm around his waist, his big hand and thick fingers splayed low on Sam’s baby brother belly, not enough to be out right weird but just enough to get a second glance and a worried look by their dad.

i get more and more pissed thinking about the endless possibilities of sam and dean's psychotic, irrational, erotic, codependent relationship that we could have had if spn was an adult rated show. Imagine if HBO had gotten a hold of Kripke's script? Everything would be intensified; the angst, the unhealthy obsession, the love, the gothic, incestuous themes. the GORE.

I need to see the suicide attempts, the mean and cruel arguments, the uncomfortable "i feel like i should look away?" closeness of the brothers. And the cursing ofc, i can't stand the constant replacement of the word fuck with "friggen".

We truly could have seen so much more depth and personality in their characters, but hey that's what fanfics are for right?

wincest post-gadreel where dean is ready to let sam take out his anger on him because dean knows he deserves it, but sam won't go far enough for him. dean wants it to hurt. dean needs it to hurt. he needs sam to punch him in the jaw and hold him down and make him take it. he needs sam to wrap his big hands around dean's throat and choke him out until he sees stars. all he gets is sam shoving him against a wall and kissing him sloppily, so much teeth both their lips are cut and bleeding after, but sam won't let dean touch him and dean is begging: fuck my throat, please sam, you can do whatever you want to me, but sam is walking away, wiping the blood off his face. he doesn't want anything to do with him, after the heat of the moment dies down. dean jerks off later, alone, shame pouring down around him in the shower, and he imagines sam shoving his face into the ground, screaming at him, hurting him---anything. dean doesn't care what sam does to him as long as he has sam's attention, but sam won't even look at him, or stand in the same room as him for more than a minute. the fantasy is just a fantasy because sam won't do that to dean, ever (except dean would do it to sam, if the circumstances were reversed).

Alternatively, my favorite thing about Supernatural is how many times Sam gets handcuffed/tied/chained up. Watching him pleading to be let go is one of my guilty pleasures.

My least favorite thing about Supernatural is how many characters should have been brought back, a prime example being ANDY GALLAGHER.

13 seasons since he died, and they didn't think to resurrect the guy who can mind control people? He was like one of the coolest characters to be introduced.

The way I see Sam and Dean's relationship, even if we're going fully bare bones canon, no wincest layers or themes, is that it's very much a D/s type of dynamic. But like, a real one.

There's a matched give and take. Maybe Dean is seemingly more dominant and in control of what they do and how they do things, but that's because Sam has given it to him.

In a D/s relationship, the submissive actually holds all the cards and it's not one person forcing the other, its mutually agreed, I give up something- you take responsibility- we trust each other.

If Sam let's Dean push him around or be bossy its because he's okay with it, he's willingly handed over the reins and when things happen that he's uncomfortable with, or Dean doesn't do something that he (Sam) wants to do, he does put his foot down and make his feelings and desires known and Dean DOES concede to him.

Sam has power and influence over Dean, and he does use them, but he doesn't want to, or feel the need to all the time, because of the nature of their dynamic that he also enjoys and benefits from.

Now, is a D/s dynamic normal or even healthy for siblings to have, even if we're keeping it at a strictly nonsexual level? Idk, probably not. But that ship sailed for them long ago and the point is, that it is a mutually agreed upon, beneficial, enjoyed or otherwise desired way of living together. Sam isn't being crushed under Dean's controlling thumb (Dean and control is something for another day but I will be addressing it in time), and Dean isn't being manipulated by his evil little brother.

A D/s relationship may look strange to an outside observer depending on what tasks or stipulations are present to be seen in the first place, but a true D/s relationship, which I believe Sam and Dean to have, brings satisfaction, security and fulfillment to both parties, even though it may come off in unconventional ways.

And I'm not saying that they sat down and talked through all of this (as you should in real life), they might not even be aware of the extent of it. (The idea of them having terms negotiating talk, while possible, does not seem probable to me). But that's where they've found themselves, even if they accidentallied their way into it, and I think they're quite pleased and comfortable with it.

sam and dean hitchhiking as teens and they end up in this truck with these two guys. they seem nice enough, offer to give them beer and stuff, which is good in deans book. but then they start waving around some 20s and talking about how pretty sam is, how his lips were made for sucking dick, how his eyes sparkle with something so innocently good.

and dean feels the rage rising in him but they keep giving him beer and money and beer and money and dean says if you give us a 100 then we'll kiss. sam turns a bright red and protests but dean tells him to shut up with a look. so the guys agree and sam and dean kiss, just a peck really. the guys get mad and rowdy, saying that's not what they paid for. so dean sticks his tongue in his little brother's mouth and makes out with him.

sam can't come to terms with the fact that this is his first kiss.
