Why my chainsaw won't start?
Especialy in this kind of temperature, when its not too cold and not yet warm enough. Chainsaw can act up. So, basic situation: worked with chainsaw for some time. Turned it off to move some branchess out of the way and to have brake. After the brake, I try to start it. I pull recoil rope. With no choke. Nothing happens. So, I put choke, thinking its too cold. I pull once more, nothing happens. At this point I have no idea whats happening and no amount of pulls will start the brand new Sthil chainsaw. Did I f*** up? Did I with my infinate knowlage pour chain oil into gass tank? And fuel into chain oil tank? Girlfriend is giving me condisending looks. I check visualy the color of fuel and oil. Seems good. So, what now? I let it sit for hour. Try again. Nothing. Thoughts go throu my mind about contacting chainsaw dealership or maybe contacting some people who could help. But logic prevaled. Basic solution what I found is: to press Throttle while puling the recoil rope. This lets air into carburator and leting the built up fuel to escape. My boot did not fit to hold the Throttle while I was pulling the recoil rope. Other options were too dangerous. So, my solution was to hold Throttle for some time. Then pull the recoil rope(with no choke). Repeated this few times, some smoke apeared as it started after few tryes and I was chainsaw hero in eyes of my girlfriend once more.
Later on I found out what I should have done in this enviroment I was in. In winter, you always use choke. In summer almost never. In between wether what you want to do is. To give one pull with choke on. Then take choke off and start it up without.
Hope this will be useful for some new chainsaw heros out there in the woods ;)
