stray kids vlive archive

i have created an archive with (almost) all of the videos from the stray kids vlive channel, and am adding subs to the newer videos that are missing them.

please note that these videos have been added quickly and some things (tags/playlists/etc) may be out of order or missing, please let me know if you notice anything and i'll fix it ASAP!

some FAQ below:

Q: what lives will be included? A: all stray kids lives that are not currently posted to their youtube channel (and some that are). so it will include all solo/group lives (yes, chan's room too), but excludes most series such as skz code, 2kr, etc. (i may add them later though, if there's interest)

Q: what about chan's room copyrighted music? A: so far, only 2 videos have been completely blocked because of copyright. i have removed the audio from the blocked parts and left a note where to find it so you can listen along. only 1 video has been blocked even with editing, and i have the file if anyone wants it

Q: will you be including videos of ***? A: yes, i am uploading all videos, BUT i will include a warning on videos including him so that they can be avoided. i'm open to suggestions on how to sort these older videos to make sure everyone feels comfortable

Q: can you add subs other than english? A: yes! if you would like a specific video to have subs in another language, please comment on the youtube video itself, and i will get it added ASAP!

Q: will Vlive+/fanship content be included? A: no - unfortunately youtube will not allow uploads of vlive+ content (i've tried, they block it immediately). if someone is willing to share their login with me, i can record those videos and save them to a google drive

Q: why don't you add the subs directly to the video? A: i personally have vision problems and like to be able to edit the size etc of subtitles, adding them as a separate file to youtube means people can adjust them to their needs/preferences

Q: how many people are working on this? A: just me ! which is why i ask for your patience while i get the logistics figured out ~

Internet Security 101:  Actual Advice for avoiding pedophilles and predators on the internet! 

I do this for a job.  

 - Do not ever put a picture you took online without using a Metadata Remover Program first.  Coding.Tools has one, and there are apps for it.   If you do not, then any creep smart enough to google a metadata/EXIF viewer can find your LONGITUDE LATITUDE AND CAMERA INFO.

- Tape your webcam when its not in use.  That way, even if something nasty gets on your computer, it cannot record you.

- Predators will lie to you about themselves.   They will present themselves to be your peer, talk about your hobbies.   As a result, a key skill in not looking like an easy target is not giving in to peer pressure.  

- All of those posts on how you should reblog and comment on fics DO NOT APPLY TO YOU, if you are a minor and it is a smutfic.   Even if your age isn’t in your profile.  

- Don’t sign up for a billion different things with your email.  Use Tenminutemail if you can.

- Discord servers are public spaces.  Don’t say anything that you wouldn’t say in a public space.   You don’t know who has screenshots, you don’t know if your grandmother will join the server a month after you leave.  Act accordingly.

- Never use your real name online unless there it is a paid service.  Either pick a fictional character, or make an alias up.  I’m fond of using HP Lovecraft for websites that are too damn nosey about my name.

- Don’t list your triggers online.  You are giving every creep on the street personal info about what makes you tick.   If I were a particularly conniving predator, I could lie and say I have been through simmilar trauma to gain your trust.  They are criminals, they do that.

- Lying on the internet for the purposes of protecting yourself is always morally okay.   That cool joke your best friend told you the other day that you want to post about?  Bam! Thats now your sister.   Tell the story as you wish.   Make everyone who follows you mildly confused about your family tree.

- This goes doubly so when people you know IRL follow you: Never mention if you are home alone or on vacation until after the fact.  Don’t post vacation photos until you get home.

- You know those security questions?  That you can use to regain your password when you are locked out of something?  Most of those are googleable.   I reccomend going with something subjective and/or smartass.  (Favorite food is better than mothers maiden name.)   This is important because if I get into your email, I can get into anything that email is attached to.  

- If finding criminals online were easy, the police (and I.) would be out of a job.  They are smarter than you think, always err on the side of caution.

some people think writers are so eloquent and good with words, but the reality is that we can sit there with our fingers on the keyboard going, “what’s the word for non-sunlight lighting? Like, fake lighting?” and for ten minutes, all our brain will supply is “unofficial”, and we know that’s not the right word, but it’s the only word we can come up with…until finally it’s like our face got smashed into a brick wall and we remember the word we want is “artificial”.

recently i decided i was going to go through my old ff.net account from when i was 13-15, and read everything posted there. i was expecting to cringe and hate everything, but while the stories posted there were obviously lower quality than i expect from my writing as a 26 year old, i still saw a lot in there to like! i actually came away thinking about how i might rewrite some of them today, had i the time

a lot of people older than 20 like to make fun of their teenage selves for being cringe, but dammit, i miss having the time and creativity to write a chapter a week, or just jump into these projects. love your younger self. read your old fanfic.

One upside to being a writer is you can write your own comfort fic. The downside is you still have to actually write it.
