The illustrator I have decided to look at is Polly Vadasz, a self-empoloyed illustrator who designs a variety of products such as tote bags, stationary, phone cases etc. She uses her Instagram account to heavily engage with her audience, asking them their opinions on products in order to make the product well suited.
On her instagram stories she shares a lot about her personal life, how she designs products and tips on how to use programmes. She also shares her struggles and the stresses of being self employed and running your own business, rather than pretending that things go smoothly all the time.
Doing all this means you are able to see the person behind the work and gives the illusion that the relationship between producer and consumer is more personal.

Everyone likes the bright lights outside, i think more than they like me. Maybe its because they see me more often, and i cant shine as bright. The people say they want to see the lights in London, wherever that is. Must be nice for them. The children prefer staring out of the window rather than looking at me.

But its not all bad, i get to enjoy the music they listen to. I have a few favourite songs, they all talk about this thing called “Christmas”. Not too sure what that is. It sounds nice.

The worst thing of all is when they put me back up into the attic. Its too dark, you can’t see anything. I don’t think they like me as much as the outside lights, they only bring me down once a year.

I’ve heard some rumours that people put up fairy lights around the house and leave them there for decoration. All year. Guess i didn’t get that lucky.
