the amount of "the weird fans ruined his character </3" comments i've seen on eddie munson posts (especially edits) is pissing me off so bad. like IN MY OPINION a fandom cannot ruin a character because the character exists in the canon world they came from. fans might be able to ruin other fans experience in the fandom space of said character, but they can't actually "ruin" the character. if you stop liking a character because of some fucking people on the internet then that's kind of your fault because no one else can curate your experiences on the internet, the block button exists for a reason, or just ignore those specific fans. i was there when season 4 of stranger things came out, i saw how some eddie fans were acting, but for the most part i stayed on the chill side of it because i either blocked people or clicked "not interested". all this to say that eddie munson is still a cool character and no weird comments are going to make me stop liking him <3
