sorry but im not done talking about this scene of lucretia and merle in the spa. because it's insane to me that clint (and by extension merle) know NOTHING about the stolen century at that point, but everything in this scene still fits perfectly looking back on it. everything lucretia does and says is heavy with the weight of what she knows and we don't, from that little laugh after merle says 'you're still much younger than me', to asking him about his faith and draining her glass of wine after every answer, to 'i want you to understand'- what an insane thing to say to someone after you've erased any memory of yourself from their mind!! but how could she not? i want you to understand because sometimes i feel like what i've done is unforgivable, because i know not all of them will, but you might. i want you to understand because i've done for you all what you've always done for me, protecting, shielding, because i used what you taught me.. and the craziest thing is that he does! he understands her now, knowing nothing, when he says 'you have faith in you' and he'll understand her then, knowing everything. when taako and magnus point their weapons at her he'll stand between them and her, asking them 'what are you doing', protecting her still. having faith in her.
